I recommend Cantata because they have a robust rehab gym staffed with professionals in physical therapy, occupational therapy, balance, speech/memory therapy. Silver Glen Senior Living in South Elgin, IL
4.7

I would definitely recommend Silver Glen Senior Living to others. The facility itself is great, the rooms are really nice, and everyone seems so nice and welcoming. Another great thing they have is they work with a company that provides Physical therapy, Speech and OT on the premises.. so we've been taking advantage of that with my mom. So convenient to have that in-house and not have to drive to appointments!

Nursing Homes

A nursing home offers residence to at least two individuals who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. This type of community provides its occupants with 24-hour care administered by registered nurses. These caregivers offer maintenance, personal care and other health related services for seniors who are unable to properly care for themselves.

Nursing homes are a helpful and easy living choice for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will frequently accept individuals 55 and older which is uncommon for other senior care types. Many occupants of nursing homes might have behavioral problems, which can consist of resisting care, a tendency to wander, or verbal outbursts. Examples of amenities and services offered at nursing homes can include care coordination and case management, room and board, help with legal questions, and adult day health care (which offers nursing and therapy) . Some services come at an extra cost which can include cosmetic and grooming items, personal reading materials, and flowers and plants. The most frequent mental issue experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings, memory function, and decision making capacities. A large number of nursing home residents are persons who have mental or physical disabilities, experience difficulty with vision and hearing, require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, or have incontinence issues.
