The facility was extremely open and friendly to all family members. The facility worked with us to get my mom acclimated to the place and try different solutions.

They take great care of their residents. I would recommend to other families. They keep it clean. The ratio to staff and residents is good.

Centennial Pointe Senior Living in Springfield, IL

Mom is eating good, walking more and enjoys the company. The staff that are there are so loving with the residents. It does seem like they are a little understaffed as I do not think mom is getting checked on as often as she was supposed to. There is a nurse on site all day and night. I have good communication with the staff and I would recommend this community.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides residence to at least two seniors who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. This type of community provides its residents with 24-hour care by registered nurses. These nurses offer health related services for those who cannot properly care for themselves.

Nursing homes can be a convenient and easy care choice for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will allow individuals 55 and greater which is unusual for other senior care types. Types of care services and amenities provided at nursing homes can include intravenous or nutrition therapy, senior centers, meal programs, and monitoring of medication. Many inhabitants tend to be single women who have circles of support, and almost half of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to spend time with visitors, have your representative notified about your care, form or participate in resident groups, and make complaints. A significant portion of nursing home occupants are individuals who require assistance with daily tasks such as walking, have a physical or mental disability, experience difficulty with hearing and seeing, or have incontinence issues. The most frequent mental disease effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their decision making capacities, memory recall, and and familiarity with their surroundings.
