Recent reviews of Nursing Homes in Norcross, GA
Sunrise of East Cobb in Marietta, GA
4.0

Transition from hospital with staff and hospice at Sunrise was not what was expected. Lack of staff for weekend and holiday. When emergency button pushed sometimes no response or over 30 minute response. Medications not administered as needed. Needs of patient could not be met in a timely manner. 24 hour care essential to make sure patient needs were attended to.

Brickmont of West Cobb in Marietta, GA
4.8

We can only speak for the memory care section. We love the 9-5 staff of Brickmont, but the staffing and care was not the same or best experience on nights and weekends. High turnover, 50% lovely caring people, just not enough of them.

Cumming Senior Living
5.0

We moved our dad here in January of this year. I have been so happy with the quality of care and cleanliness. All of the other families of the residents that I’ve met are all so kind. The food is excellent as well! I highly recommend Cumming Nursing Center for your loved one.

Norcross, Georgia

Nursing Homes

A nursing home community offers residence to two or more individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. This type of community offers its occupants around-the-clock care administered by registered nurses. These caregivers provide care for people who are unable to take care of themselves due to mental or physical conditions, including age.

Nursing homes can be a convenient and easy living choice for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will commonly admit persons 55 and older (a rarity in the world of senior care). Many residents of nursing homes may have behavioral issues. These can consist of resisting care, verbal outbursts, or a tendency to wander. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include personal reading materials, specially prepared food, and a private room, unless medically needed. Often times persons may decide to live in a nursing home over another type of community due to a mental or physical impairment that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their standard of living. Nursing homes are required to provide specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), pharmaceutical services, dietary services, and a professionallly directed program of activities to residents. The most common mental disease experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their decision making capacities, and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings, and memory function.
