My loved one thinks highly of the food. I have talked to the caregivers that assist my loved one. These caregivers call me and inform of anything going on with my loved. I believe the staff is very friendly. The community is taking care of my loved one. I am able to drop in and see my loved one through a window. My loved one always seems to be clean when I visit her at the window.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides room and board to at least two persons who have no familial ties to the administrator. This type of establishment provides its inhabitants with care by registered nurses. These nurses offer care for those who are unable to adequately take care of their own needs because of their aging.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfortable care choice for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will commonly admit individuals 55 and older seldom heard of in senior care regarding care types. Some services come at an extra cost which can include personal comfort items, flowers and plants, and a private room, unless medically needed. Nursing homes are required to provide nursing and related services, room and bed maintenance services, a professionallly directed program of activities, and specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability) to residents. Many occupants are bachelors or widows with circles of support, and almost half of nursing home residents are over the age of 85. Many occupants of nursing homes are elders with behavioral problems, which can include verbal lash-outs, resisting help, or an urge to wander.
