Sycamore Hills By the Bay in Hercules, CA

The only improvement that I can think of that needs to be made at Sycamore Hills By the Bay is there is not enough parking. That is my only complaint about this facility. Everyone is very nice, the facility is really clean. I am really happy with my experience here so far.

Carlton Senior Living Concord

The facility is very nice, close to stores, shops, parks & movie theatre. Lots of good restaurants near by. However, food is provided here, sometimes people like to go out to a restaurant. They have a lot of activities to do, a nice variety.

Complete guide to independent living

San Pablo, California

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a handy equilibrium between an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about the basic tasks of housekeeping and chores. Basic tasks such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private caregivers. There are an assortment of expenditures and benefits to balance while determining an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are covered in the service plan: initial assessment fee, private phone, cable TV, internet access, transportation, move-in fee, utilities, and wellness program. The amenities that pertain to independent living include security guards, fitness center & swimming pool, community activities, beauty salon & barber shop, golf course, concierge services, laundry service, and restaurant-style dining hall.
