N/a when it comes to the meals and dining. Dad is in independent living apartment so makes own meals. The activities are outstanding. Tons of activities for the residents to participate in. The value for cost was more than what we originally planned to spend. But after being there and experiencing all they have to offer I feel it is well worth it. My dad really likes it there. It was a true blessing from God that we went there. Very friendly and helpful people.

The staff members are all definitely friendly, and we do think they offer good activities. We think it is nicely ran, everyone there is very nice. We would recommend this community to a family or friend.

The Waterford at West Bend
4.0

The Waterford checked all the boxes for Mom. After living alone in her own home for 40 years, she didn't know how she'd adapt to community living. She did not want to walk long halls with confusing floor plans and elevators. The Waterford is small and a single story which has made her transition great! She enjoys the staff and the friendly atmosphere. It is a great place for her which she quickly considered her home!

Fox Point, Wisconsin

Independent Living

For many seniors, cost of owning a home might be a deterrent to enjoying an otherwise independent life. Independent Living Communities offer a convenient remedy to this situation. Basic needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they see fit, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a number of expenditures and benefits to consider while determining an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are covered in the plan: wellness program, cable TV, utilities, meals, private phone, field trips, laundry, and transportation. The amenities that pertain to independent living include laundry service, golf course, community activities, transportation, security guards, beauty salon & barber shop, private rental hall, and game/TV room.
