Brookdale Beckett Meadows in Austin, TX
4.3

People are very friendly and caring. They are staffing up a bit which is helping. Any issues we have had is directly related to not having enough people power to handle the demand. Overall, the car has been good. It is clean. The food is good. The activities are plentiful.

Sodalis Austin

The medical Director, the executive Director, the sales Director and the receptionist were always very welcoming and available anytime I needed them. The only thing that was a little slow was that sometimes when my dad pushed the button on his pendant, it took longer than we expected.

The Continental Retirement Community in Austin, TX
4.8

What we like the most about The Continental Retirement Community is the book club, transportation and the library. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

The cottage was very nice, however, I feel it would be about a year premature for me to move there. There is no community center or places for interaction with others. I would feel very secluded & alone until the rest of the facility is completed.

Complete guide to independent living

Manor, Texas

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide seniors with an equilibrium between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with chores. Frequent needs such as the scheduling of social activities and housekeeping are accounted for, which provides residents more opportunities to live active lives as they desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering an opportunity to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a variety of advantages and expenses to balance while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to determine if these services are included in your plan: Waiting list deposit, initial assessment fee, housekeeping, move-in fee, parking, utilities, private phone, and meals. The amenities that pertain to independent living include healthcare center, fitness center & swimming pool, private rental hall, game/TV room, laundry service, security guards, transportation, and concierge services.
