Everlan of Johnson City
5.0

Everlan of Johnson City is a wonderful place. The moment you walk in, you feel a sense of relief. It is a fairly new building that is only about 2 years old. They bent over backwards to help us get my sister in law in here. She just LOVES it. She said she feels like she is on a permanent cruise ship. The food is great and staff have been so helpful. There are tons of activities and clubs available for residents and transportation as well. The views are beautiful too. They don't have many studios available but we are on the waiting list for the next one that is open. If I was looking for a place for myself, this is where I would go. We are very happy with our choice and would highly recommend Everlan of Johnson City (but they are completely full at the moment).

Princeton Transitional Care and Assisted Living in Johnson City, TN
4.0

I would recommend it. Of the facilities in our area, this one is the best value for the money. I picked it because it is a clean, updated facility, all on one level. They have suites with doors open to a courtyard. The staff is friendly and helpful. They allow residents to have meals in their room without charging for "room service". The staff has been very good to work with me on doing the very best for my brother's complicated condition.

The Village At Allandale in Kingsport, TN
4.6

Staff have always treated her with respect and kindness. They are all very responsive to my questions and calls when checking in on her. They keep me well informed of changes with her medication, doctor visits or if she has an accident. Mom complains some but she eats it. I think it more of what she thinks she doesn't like what they have to eat. They seem to have a routine on meals. I've not tasted it so I can't tell you on that. I know she never has been fond of soup. I know it has to be hard to cook for lots of people with different likes and dislikes.

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community permits residents the ability to live an active lifestyle while making sure their basic needs have been met. Food preparation, leisure activities and housekeeping duties are taken care of while you are unrestricted to use your time as you choose. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are an assortment of expenses and advantages to keep in mind when choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are included in the service plan: utilities, private phone, field trips, internet access, meals, initial assessment fee, housekeeping, and Waiting list deposit. The amenities that pertain to independent living include game/TV room, transportation, private rental hall, community activities, security guards, golf course, beauty salon & barber shop, and concierge services.
