Brookdale Colonial Heights

The staff is wonderful. They are patient and friendly. The activities are great! Would like to have been more. Love this place highly recommend.

Love the staff. So sweet to my mother and they take great care of her!! Always clean - a very clean facility. Always smells great too! Great at cleaning her room. Good administration, a great team! Everyone is so friendly! They make you feel like you’re part of the family

Overall, they have been more than helpful from the very beginning. From having the furniture delivered and setup to dealing with getting her settled in. There have been a few snags but we have gotten things worked out. I would recommend Brookdale Colonial Heights to others.

Brookdale Colonial Heights is a very nice place. It's small and personal and meets mom's needs. Good staff and workers. Everyone has made mom feel at home and welcomed. They have been very helpful. The nurses are very understanding

My husband has been at Brookdale for approximately two months. His care has been excellent. He enjoys joining other residents walking in the hallways, listening to guest musicians and vocalists, working jigsaw puzzles, and playing bingo. He loves the food and sometimes eats extra servings. When I have expressed concerns about medications or missing remotes or clothing, they have been addressed immediately and to my satisfaction. Staff genuinely care about the residents and families.

Small, intimate and feel comfortable knowing what's going on with the facility/employees and other residents- I love the smaller and personal aspect of Brookdale in Colonial Heights. Staff was super friendly and personable. The size of the facility was perfect for our situation. Parking is horrible if busy or raining and you have to take your loved one out of facility

When someone you deeply love experiences the less tender side of aging and are no longer able to take care of themselves, the worry and stress truly set in. For someone that has given so much and invested in you as a person to grow, learn, and become the best you can be it is only acceptable that they get the most individualized and quality resident care. A place where they can still be independent and branch out socially, but still have people at the ready to step in and assist who are medically qualified and really care about your loved one. This place really helps ease the whole process as well as help alleviate the stress and anxiety. The staff is truly amazing, I’d like to shout out clay. Overall, I truly recommend this place even if just for consideration for a loved one.

Brookdale Colonial Heights is the best. My Aunt has been a resident since March of this year. We toured several facilities and chose the best one! She is very happy and we are delighted that she is safe and happy . The staff is fantastic and there are plenty of activities . She loves the food as well .

The Staff at Brookdale in Colonial Heights are so Friendly and Helpful at every turn! They make every effort to accommodate the needs of all of the residents! The Staff work hard to provide a variety of events to keep everyone entertained. We have enjoyed each of the Staff and wish them all a Merry Christmas!!

I feel my mother is well cared for and enjoys her neighbors, the activities and trips provided. I even think I’ve made friends here too! We lost my Daddy soon after my parents moved in. The support we received from the staff was amazing and my mother has continued to thrive.

This community - Brookdale Colonial Heights is BY FAR the very BEST assisted living facility I've found! The staff is amazing! It's clean, the food is unbeatable! My father is SO happy. If we could give it a 10 (5+++) we would!

My Mom has been at Brookdale for over a year and we have been very pleased with the quality of care she has received.The staff is very professional and caring. They have a small amount of turnover in employees.My mother has been very complementary about the food and activities.

My Aunt developed Alzheimer's and the staff are phenomenal! My aunt can be a challenge but she is doing great! She goes to every activity and has made friends. The Executive Director is amazing and our family could not be happier. So glad we chose this community

My daughter and I recently moved my grandmother and her great grandmother into Brookdale-Coloniel Heights. When we walked in to inquire about the facility, we were introduced to [name removed] who did our facility walk through. [name removed]was extremely thorough, transparent, and asked specific questions for what our needs were for my grandmother. He listened empathetically and provided insight into the care that this facility could provide for her. Once my grandmother moved in, the ongoing communication from Nursing with respect to my grandmother's care continued and still continues to this day. I am kept well informed of her daily and weekly progress. This has been vital for me since I live 2 1/2 hours away in Hickory, North Carolina. I would like to commend the maintenance staff for their assistance with the move-in process as well as ongoing communication as to if we need anything. They even called me as a courtesy, to see if my Gram needed anything. I would highly recommend Brookdale.

Brookdale Colonial Heights provides a happy , healthy and secure home setting. The apartments are newly renovated , courtyard is beautiful and the staff are very knowledgeable.

My father-in-law placed his wife in the memory care unit at Brookedale. During the 5 months she was there, he found her in the floor twice and naked/confused once. He ended up moving her to a different facility. Here are the issues he found at Brookedale: 1. Rooms are too big on the Memory Care side. Alzheimer’s patients generally “walk the walls”. Additionally it was difficult to find the bathroom within the “apartment”. 2. Absolutely no activities for the residents on the Memory Care Unit. Residents pace the halls, sleep or just sit. 3. Staff to resident ratio too low. 4. Staff did not toilet resodents every 2 hours as advertised. The family found mom in soiled britches. 5. Meals were not suitable for Alzheimer’s patients. Alzheimer’s is a regression. It ia difficult for these patients to use utensils. Finger foods are more appropriate.
