Wesley Court in Boiling Springs, SC

Everyone is very kind and the activities are amazing, just be sure the staff knows what you want and expect. It is a wonderful place and affordable which is very hard to find today. I would truly recommend Wesley Court and thank you guys for that referral.

The Blake at Hollingsworth Park in Greenville, SC
4.5

The facility is beautiful and new, the food was excellent....chef was great and accommodating. I felt the individual attention to my Dad was not always given as promised. There were a few times I had to follow up with administrators for follow through. The respite fees are expensive but it is a nice facility with a positive happy vibe. Some of the facilities I toured were pretty depressing .

Holiday Haywood Estates in Greenville, SC
3.0

Haywood Estates is lovely. They're in a transition right now. The manager is new, and there is a lot of turnover. The ones who have left seem to be the ones who paid the most attention to the residents. Some of the ones they have hired have been good, but it's getting much more rules based and rigid than it was when I first came here. Dining needs work but is improving. The dining room is not very clean - I don't believe they sweep the floors but once a week. The salt shakers are often empty. And they are out of many condiments (butter, jelly, cream, etc.) The activities are not challenging enough, and I'm not a fan of Bingo. The therapy department that has a clinic here is wonderful. The beauty shop is good. I like my apartment. It has worked out well, and I really like how quiet it is. Overall I do like it here.

Independent Living

For many seniors, the financial burden of home ownership and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might be a deterrent to an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a good solution to this situation. Food preparation, recreational activities and housekeeping responsibilities are taken care of while you are unrestricted to use your time as you desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of independent health care professionalls, they may always do so. There are a number of advantages and costs to keep in mind when choosing an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in the service plan: utilities, laundry, meals, field trips, wellness program, transportation, initial assessment fee, and private phone. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include transportation, concierge services, game/TV room, fitness center & swimming pool, golf course, security guards, beauty salon & barber shop, and community activities.
