TerraBella Spartanburg

"Schedules" were haphazard- days to have ... rooms cleaned showers given laundry done. Food - adequate to good most days. Outstanding from time to time. Residents - content and friendly. Often. delightful. Location - my primary concern - close to Spartanburg businesses and residences, etc.

The staff take very good care of my mom. She is very happy at Terra Bella and we would recommend them to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

I must first say that everything was great until the management changed in [date removed]. Following the death of my father in June, I chose to take my Mom to my home and she died in April of this year. I would rate everything a 4-5 prior to that management change. After that much of the staff left, meals were not very good, cleaning became part of the caregivers duties which were already short staffed. For all of those reasons, the facility was no longer somewhere I wanted my Mom to be.

What we like the most about the community is the friendliness of the staff and we would recommend TerrraBella Spartanburg to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

My father-in-law passed away he was only there a year. It really was an excellent place. Pop really liked the residents and the staff there. They took excellent care of him right up until the end.

It's a great facility for the value. We picked this community because of the affordability.

My mother has been at TerraBella Spartanburg about 3 months. She loves the activities and the staff. She has enjoyed some of the outings where she went out to eat. She has not gone on any of the shopping outings, but I hear they are popular

We had issue with some of the staff and then found out they were asked to leave based on the things we communicated. 80% of the staff was wonderful, friendly and dedicated. The accommodations in memory care were spare for safety reasons. There was also alot of turnover in cooking staff. Food was wonderful to mediocre depending on the chef.

The only reason the overall experience got a 4 star rating is due to the small room size and my loved ones recliner will not fit. We chose this facility because of the price as well as the location. Staff is very helpful and the facility is clean and smells clean. I would highly recommend Terrabella Spartanburg

The staff at TerraBella Spartanburg are friendly, but overworked. The administration does not seem to know the staff well. They do not listen to the staff when it comes to resident care and seem, themselves, ignorant of the needs of the residents and the staff. In all of my visits, I never saw the residents engaged in an activity. The therapists (physical, occupational and speech therapists) are, in my experience, kind, communicative and good at their jobs.

The nursing staff know my relative's personal care needs, treat her as an individual, and are kind and caring. Since her arrival she's had a medical & cognitive decline and they have adapted their approaches. The staff take time to acknowledge our visits and keep us updated. The nutrition staff and maintenance manager are also very caring and have helped in many positive ways. The administrator is very involved, is accessible and is present within the facility. The residents are friendly and care about each other. The physical therapy is on-site & I'd Select Rehabilitation. The therapists are very knowledgeable and skilled.

Probably just look around, find out how satisfied the people that live there are. We picked this community because of the cost, and it seemed friendly.

My grandma just passed this Wednesday and they staff became like family the couple of months she was there. The price is awesome compared to others in the area and I would recommend to anyone! The place could be cleaned better as there were spiders and stuff in the corners of the ceilings but no big deal on the grand scheme of the things. The meals were well balanced and the activities were great. One of her medtechs named [name removed] pace became like family. She was always super informative and so caring to my grandmother. I'm so thankful they were able to place her there so quickly and I thank you for your help in it also! The staff are amazing and always so personable. They became like family to me and would always call and update me on things also. I highly recommend it!

The reason we gave the meals and dining service a 4 out of 5, is because we do think they could offer more fresh fruit options. However, our loved one is happier being at TerraBella Spartanburg community. He's gotten more social. He likes the fact that he lives in close proximity to his son and grandchildren.

TerraBella Spartanburg isn't the fanciest or shiniest facility we toured. We toured 4 around Spartanburg. But as soon as our tour was over, I knew it was the right place for my dad. It's a very homey place. It's older, but it's always clean and the people living there are excited and happy to be there, which speaks volumes. There is life in them! The staff are engaged with the residents and they treated my dad like their own father. The rooms are spacious, which was very important to us. Unfortunately my dad passed away only about 2 months after being at TerraBella, in [date removed]. He had progressive Lewy Body Dementia and it was horrible for us to have to finally place him in a memory care facility. To this day I have no regrets about choosing TerraBella for him.

The Executive Director [name removed] was very nice and caring. She helped me through a rough time of transition. She also ensured her staff provides the best care. I highly recommend her and to other people for caring for your loved ones. If 1 person can make a difference, she does exactly that.

My dad was only at Terrabella for 3 1/2 months before he died. His dementia was more advanced than we realized. We also chose Terrabella because they told us they were an end of life facility and that they would never increase his cost to stay there. Staff was very kind and always willing to talk. Several of the staff became very close to my Dad and had funny stories to tell us about the things he did during the day. I always felt comfortable walking in to visit.

TerraBella Spartanburg has been an awesome experience so far, if we had to pick a place for ourselves we would want to move here. The staff have taken such great care of our loved one, they always make sure he is bathed and clean shaven. Based on our experience we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

I would not recommend them. It's so sad how badly these facilities have gotten. Everyone is understaffed and overworked and it shows. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting my loved one anywhere right now. It's really so sad. I especially feel sorry for those elderly that have no one to advocate for them.
