Independent Living
Only been at HH for slightly over a year but have found all the nurses and staff to be very friendly and helpful, always willing lend me a helping hand when I need it. I enjoy the many little features that are provided, which are not provided in other living environments. Every week a new menu for all the meals for the ensuing week, an Activities calendar the month with live entertainers at least every 2 weeks, exercise programs almost daily, games and social get togethers, and religious sessions for those who want them. In all, HH is organized to help the residents enjoy their stay. I almost forgot to mention the providing of transportation to medical appointments off campus. This has allowed me to sell my car and save money. The drivers are friendly and our chats have been enjoyable. Needless to say, I like HH and living here. It is now HOME to me.
First, you need to see this facility. They did a major renovation and it looks so different. It has been modernized and looks amazing. My Mom has been at Brandywine for a few years. It is a tough decision to make when your loved one needs more care than what you can give. The apartments are roomy. The food is wonderful. There are so many activities that one will never get bored. My Mom is now on the Reflections-Memory Care Unit. The care and support that she receives is amazing. She is well cared for. The staff is so genuine and supportive to my Mom and family. Administration takes the time to talk with you and answer your questions. It is like an extended family. I am so happy with making the decision to move my Mom to Brandywine.
Our loved one has since passed but she had moved into The Heritage of Green Hills which is a new facility that looks like a 4-star hotel. There were lots of different events, nice and friendly staff and better help.

For many seniors, cost of owning a home and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might deter them from an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities provide a good solution to this situation. Seniors may continue to live their lives as they desire while their meals are cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and recreational activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they choose. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a variety of benefits and costs to balance when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in the service plan: Waiting list deposit, laundry, initial assessment fee, transportation, housekeeping, internet access, field trips, and cable TV. The amenities associated with independent living include laundry service, restaurant-style dining hall, game/TV room, concierge services, golf course, fitness center & swimming pool, beauty salon & barber shop, and private rental hall.
