Only been at HH for slightly over a year but have found all the nurses and staff to be very friendly and helpful, always willing lend me a helping hand when I need it. I enjoy the many little features that are provided, which are not provided in other living environments. Every week a new menu for all the meals for the ensuing week, an Activities calendar the month with live entertainers at least every 2 weeks, exercise programs almost daily, games and social get togethers, and religious sessions for those who want them. In all, HH is organized to help the residents enjoy their stay. I almost forgot to mention the providing of transportation to medical appointments off campus. This has allowed me to sell my car and save money. The drivers are friendly and our chats have been enjoyable. Needless to say, I like HH and living here. It is now HOME to me.

The Heritage of Green Hills in Shillington, PA
5.0

Our loved one has since passed but she had moved into The Heritage of Green Hills which is a new facility that looks like a 4-star hotel. There were lots of different events, nice and friendly staff and better help.

Juniper Village at Lebanon
5.0

Juniper Village is very clean, sometimes with communities and caring for elderly residents there may be unpleasant odor, but not that this community. The staff are very friendly, they usually talk to you as you walking around, call you by name and even talk about things your loved one is getting involved in. Our loved one is very happy and satisfied with the meals. Our loved one is diabetic, and at their previous community all they served was pasta and potatoes, but here they are serving fresh vegetables and fruit every day. Our loved one grew up in the country, and Juniper Village has a beautiful court yard with flowers, trees, benches and places to walk around. Also, everything is all on one level.

Ephrata, Pennsylvania

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community provides residents the opportunity to continue to live an active life while making sure their fundamental needs have been fulfilled. Basic needs such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they choose, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to enlist the services of independent medical providers, they always have the option. There are a number of expenditures and advantages to keep in mind when choosing an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are included in the care plan: initial assessment fee, parking, laundry, wellness program, field trips, private phone, utilities, and cable TV. The amenities associated with independent living include game/TV room, fitness center & swimming pool, transportation, laundry service, healthcare center, private rental hall, community activities, and golf course.
