I like the care that my mom is receiving with the staff here. The dining area is beautiful and the meals are outstanding with a great variety. This community is very clean and maintained. They do have nice activities that are offered for when possible. I have recommended this community to other families for the great care and the value that is received here.

Astoria, Oregon

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide seniors with a handy equilibrium between an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about chores. Basic tasks such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they choose. While policies differ between communities, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are a number of benefits and expenses to keep in mind while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are included in the plan: field trips, initial assessment fee, laundry, private phone, wellness program, cable TV, housekeeping, and meals. The luxuries associated with independent living include game/TV room, community activities, transportation, restaurant-style dining hall, fitness center & swimming pool, private rental hall, concierge services, and beauty salon & barber shop.
