Clatsop Care Memory Community

Yep! I can whole heartedly vouch for "Work in the Industry" and exactly what has been stated. Being that that review was so much older than mine, I do have to note that the current administrator does seem to attempt to "up" the staffing; but the reality of what I experienced was still "never enough" staff was on the floor, which is unfair to both residents and staff. Financial management entities, especially of assisted care facilities that care for our most vulnerable of the population, must stop to consider what items must be cut. It's the current "downsizing" of business. Cuts to quality of food and direct support (caregivers) and quality recreation programs are enough of a reason to research alternate possible placement solutions for your loved ones.

Unfortunately the new management company, Aidan Management, is the worst possible group to be in charge of this facility, as well as Clatsop Care Rehabilitation and the Assisted Living facility in Astoria. Their entire focus is financial, and since they began in April 2017, there have been 5 administrators at Memory Care, each who leave after just a few short months. [name removed], the Regional Director, and [name removed], in charge of Aidan, both lack direction, ethics and moral values. There are several residents that have suffered needlessly due to inadequate staffing, underqualified staffing, exeptionally high turnover, and the immature, high school mentality of Aidan. I would never have a loved one at this facility under these circumstances!

This community offers a lot of activities as well as trips out twice a week. The staff at this community are pleasant and trained to care for memory care residents. This is a secure community, however they do offer three areas outside that the residents can enjoy. They are great at accommodating mom's requests. The community is clean. They have a salon on site as well as the ability to draw blood on site. I would recommend this community.
