Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally capable of living without assistance, but the cost burden of home ownership might be a deterrent to living an independent life. Independent Living Communities offer a solid remedy to this situation. Occupants may use their free time as they desire while their food is cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are taken care of by staff, and social activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they choose. While policies differ between locations, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing care is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent caregivers. There are a number of advantages and costs to balance when determining an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are included in your plan: initial assessment fee, private phone, transportation, move-in fee, internet access, wellness program, field trips, and utilities. The benefits that pertain to independent living include healthcare center, beauty salon & barber shop, restaurant-style dining hall, private rental hall, security guards, golf course, concierge services, and game/TV room.
