While driving around Vt. and passing by Valley Terrace Assisted Living I noticed how welcoming the flowers on the balconies were. Time passed and my daughter introduced me to several assisted living facilities. With encouragement from my family I moved into Valley Terrace as it was a small community, there are walking areas and a flower garden. There are many activities both mentally and physically. The nursing staff keeps me from worrying about my health problems which is a BIG plus. Working through the virus challenges we will hopefully return to a normal life and "there will flowers on the balconies once again."
Very happy with the care and concern that my Mom is receiving at Golden View! It is very expensive - I feel it could be less expensive - but I’ve found that all these facilities are about the same cost! My biggest issue is that the food is sub-par!!!! They should have better food with a better variety of choices! She hardly ever has received a steak! It’s always chicken , meatloaf, pot roast and very blah food! She enjoys the breakfasts but not a fan of the main dinner! The staff is absolutely wonderful - however they need more employees (like most) they can’t find people to work! Overall 4 stars! I also wish that the activities were more versatile to suit the individuals!
My parents were only there for 8 weeks. It was not a good fit for them. It is a very nice community but I have since learned that there are 2 types of assisted living communities. Some that are socially focused and some that have more focus on health care needs. Bowman is more focused on social and my parents needed more health care support.
