Grand Emerald Place in South Bend, IN

I appreciate how friendly everybody is. Most of the time the care is okay. Getting my loved one to keep the fall detector lanyard on her neck has been a challenge, but that's not on them. They have a back patio, and I think they're going to be having a garden. And the inside is pretty nice.

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide seniors with a nice balance between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with chores. Basic needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and leisure activities is provided, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they choose, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they choose. While policies differ between locations, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of private medical professionalls, they may always do so. There are a number of benefits and expenditures to balance while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these services are included in the service plan: wellness program, housekeeping, cable TV, parking, transportation, private phone, meals, and internet access. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include security guards, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, fitness center & swimming pool, community activities, golf course, laundry service, and beauty salon & barber shop.
