Residences at Coffee Creek

Compared to the facilities in Illinois this was much better and affordable for her needs.

I moved my mom to the memory care here about 2 months ago and this has been such a great experience for us. We were so worried she wouldn't acclimate but she is doing wonderful and we can live our lives not constantly worried like we used to. Great food, clean nice staff. The boss runs a tight ship. Best in the area and I've seen them all.

After a brief illness we needed to find a place for our mother to during her recovery. She started out in the Memory Care unit and it was a wonderful experience. After a few weeks she graduated to Assisted Living. At that point she chose not to go home. She realized that she belonged there. Throughout the entire experience the Staff members were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. They really helped us in this stressful time. It is apparent that they have each resident as their highest priority. The socialization through activities, meals and daily interactions has really helped improve our mother's alertness and outlook. It is a great fit!!!

We are impressed with the friendly staff and help that our father receives. The space is open, airy, and clean. Other residents and visitors seem to enjoy socializing together. It’s easy to make friends here. We feel confident that Dad is in a safe and healthy environment. It’s as good as it gets!

Pleasant staff. Always helpful. Beautiful environment to live. After my father got settled in he seemed to do so much better than his previous place. We are happy he has made friends and has a variety of activities to participate in. Thank you.

This is a perfect place for Dad who wants to have a place of his own but needs some assistance. He has his independence yet has other people who are in a similar situation who he can be with. It’s a beautiful atmosphere with so much to offer. We are very pleased! He continues to tell us what a nice place it is. The staff is always very friendly to him and his little dog.

My mom recently moved into Residences at Coffee Creek. We had family rotating going to her house caring for her for the last 8 months and it just wasn't a good long term solution. Lots of trips to her house, fall scares and sleepless nights worrying about her. We tried home care, that was a nightmare. Now that she's at Coffee Creek, I wish we wouldn't have waited so long to move her. What a relief having her there! The staff is wonderful and mom has already made friends with her neighbor which she enjoys having meals with. We started some PT which is helping her balance issues and we like that her new nurse practitioner comes in weekly to see her (no more trips to the doctors office thankfully!) She is COMFORTABLE and we are happy. If you're looking for a solution for assisted living, this is the place to be!

We did MAJOR research before choosing a memory care for our brother. With 5 siblings, our punch list was long. Family made a quick decision to move him into a place in Valpo to start because of a "great deal" they offered us at the time. Here's the deal - You Get What You Pay For! The experience was horrible, staff was agency, food was gross... and I promise you, they offer deals for a reason. Trust me when I say, if your loved one needs memory care, Residences should be on your list of places to explore. This has been night and day. Residences is 5 star! They go above and beyond to make sure my brother is cared for and the needs of my family are met. I kick myself for not starting here. You live and you learn. Thank you Residences for showing us how it should be!

The Residences at Coffee Creek is a beautiful facility and the staff try hard, but they are very understaffed and it shows in the care received. They need more staffing in all aspects, especially in Memory Care. If your loved one needs close monitoring or assistance this isn't it. Some of the CNA's were lovely [names removed], but so overworked. They never answer the resident call buttons. This place promises you the moon, but most of the services never happen. My mother never saw a doctor despite requesting it multiple times.

What makes the difference between one assisted living facility and another? It's the people who work there! Our mother has been at Residences at Coffee Creek for roughly 4 years. Over that time she has experienced the challenges associated with the pandemic and the inevitable turnover of employees. She has also had her own ups and downs with her health including a recent 9 day hospital stay, plus another 14 days in rehab to help her with her recovery. Over that entire period the people at Coffee Creek reached out to her and our family to check up on her progress. This even included a personal phone call to me (son) from one of fine and caring nurses on staff (name removed) at 8PM one night to get an update and to start planning for Mom's return needs. So, while decent food options, fancy architecture, and various activities, are all very nice amenities, the real measure of a good assisted living facility should be based on the people who work there. Like the Residence at Coffee Creek!

Mom has been at Residences of Coffee Creek for about two years. Her experience has been very good. Staff is very committed to taking good care of mom. The director of nursing ([name removed]) and ([name removed]) the executive director, work effortlessly to provide an exceptional quality of care. The activities director([name removed]) works very hard to provide many activities for the residents. They even had a senior prom.! Residents also make lots of friends! I am so glad my mom is at Coffee Creek!

We had a great experience at Residences at Coffee Creek. Not only is it a new and an inviting environment, the team was our partner from the start. I remember how the admissions director was so nice and helping us transition my mother to her new place. The community is so welcoming that people with dementia can manage more easily and not be overwhelmed. This really worked for my mom. She was comfortable there from the start, and that had not happened at her previous place. We will be forever grateful to the team at Residences at Coffee Creek. They made all of our lives better and allowed me to worry less.

After almost 3 years of hopping around from place to place because of lack of care, amenities, or overall poor care, p we finally found Residences. Living out of town. It is so hard that we can't be there to take care of Mom like she deserves. We visited over the Christmas holiday and I can't thank them enough for the way that they are treating her like family. Honestly, this place has been a godsend to our family and helps us sleep sound at night knowing that mom is here being taken care of the way she is. It is so fitting that they are treating her with the same level of care she used to treat us with when we were at home.

I wanted to take a minute to let others know about how nice a facility this is. It is a pleasure to know that my mom is being taked care of and is peace of mind. I am very satisfied with the care and attention given to the community as a whole. I eat there often and the food is home made, it is a full menu with plenty of choices. Our family wanted to take a minute to tell others about our experience with Residences of Coffee Creek in Chesterton Indiana. Our parents have ample opportunities to gather with their friends, play cards, or take the bus to veture out to Dr. visits. They also are able to go shopping and have some time to venture out. Their restaurant has a full menu, and they have so many choices, it is not llimiting like other facilities that we visited. This is a clean, well maintiained facility with a very caring staff! I've been drawing caricatures at many nursing houses for several years and have been very impressed by RCC. Believing it was another place for the very sick, I was surprised by the friendly atmosphere that came from the staff and residents. The residents are very happy there, including the memory care residents. I also come to show the residents how to paint and they all enjoy the activity. It is a productive activity that helps the residents gain confidence in learning a new skill. The staff are very helpful to the residents and enjoy forming friendships with them. I am also impressed with the staff helping me to set up for that day's painting activities. RCC is definitely a place for the people who are looking for comfort in their golden years. I recommend RCC to anyone looking for a place for their loved ones.

I started helping my wife and son with an art program they created for people who have dementia. My only experience in a senior living was in a nursing home. My mother had Alzheimer's and my dad had to take her to a nursing home. That was a long time ago. I sure wish Residences at Coffee Creek would've been built then. I can't get over how well everyone does in their Memory Care. My mother would've done so well in an environment where staff takes such care in providing care. I am also surprised at people who live in the assisted living part. They are people about the age of me and my wife and they are enjoying living there. I guess I assumed senior living was for people who needed alot of help. I learned that it's available if you need it, otherwise just carry on like you always have, but you have a nurse on duty just in case. I think seniors like me would benefit from volunteering there. You can learn alot.

I have been in every senior living community in the region because I have been working with health services for seniors for over [time frame removed]. Since Residences at Coffee Creek first opened, we have worked with staff, developed relationships with them and as well as the residents and their families; we provide art experiences for them on-site. Memory Care residents also participate--staff is so dedicated to encouraging them. It looks like a hotel, it's always immaculate, no matter what area you're visiting. Residents love the meals. They are happy and when someone new moves in, they are, therefore, very welcoming and inviting. I always recommend Residences at Coffee Creek when asked--and after all, my husband and I are seniors, too, so we know how important it is when it's time to choose senior living.

I recently had to move my husband into memory care from a different facility in the area and the I feel so relieved with my decision. The staff has been very accommodating during this difficult transition. I can't thank their team enough for treating him with such diligent care. I would highly recommend Residences at Coffee Creek.
