SummerHouse Vista Shores in New Orleans, LA

The head nurse, [name removed], is amazing. She is also in charge of the care staff. Everyone was so professional and thorough in their care of [name removed]. When sheets or clothes needed changing, it was done immediately. When he went into hospice and died, they were supportive to the end. I cannot say enough good things about Summerhouse. [name removed] had been to two other assisted living facilities before that, and there was no comparison. We wish we had moved him there sooner.

The Landing At Behrman Place Retirement Community in New Orleans, LA

This community is a decent place. We didn't have many problems with the community. The communication could have been better; however this might have been effected due to the pandemic. I would recommend this community to others.

Saint Bernard, Louisiana

Independent Living

For seniors who would prefer to live primarily without personal assistance but would like the advantage of having daily tasks and responsibilities maintained by professionalls, an Independent Living Community could be the perfect fit. Food preparation, leisure activities and housekeeping are handled for you while you are unrestricted to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with independent care providers as desired. There are a variety of expenditures and advantages to keep in mind when determining an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are included in your care plan: initial assessment fee, wellness program, field trips, laundry, meals, move-in fee, internet access, and housekeeping. The amenities associated with independent living include laundry service, golf course, restaurant-style dining hall, healthcare center, game/TV room, community activities, concierge services, and beauty salon & barber shop.
