SummerHouse Vista Shores

It was a mediocre experience and I'm not sure our loved one felt special or deeply cared about except by a minority of care providers.

The location of this facility is great and the staff is great. Apartment sizes are very nice and maintenance folks have been responsive when needed. The staff are all super nice, across the board. The only issues we've had were related to some inconsistent housekeeping while they had some turnover but that all seems to be resolved

The head nurse, [name removed], is amazing. She is also in charge of the care staff. Everyone was so professional and thorough in their care of [name removed]. When sheets or clothes needed changing, it was done immediately. When he went into hospice and died, they were supportive to the end. I cannot say enough good things about Summerhouse. [name removed] had been to two other assisted living facilities before that, and there was no comparison. We wish we had moved him there sooner.

Vista Shores is exactly what we was looking for in a community for our mom. We were blown away at how happy and we’ll take care of all of the residents were and the wide variety of activities that are offered. We toured and noticed how clean and well kept everything is! My parents were members of the original country club that the building originally was to Lake Vista. We toured other communities and none of them had near the outdoor space compared to here with the benches along the bayou and the walking paths (not to mention all of the nature and wildlife like the cute ducks!) We ended up choosing Vista Shores and our mom will be moving in during July.

In all honesty, I am not sure that I would refer SummerHouse Vista Shores to other families. I do not think the care was very good. Luckily, my loved one who was here did not need that much care at the time. Overall it was not a good place for our loved one.

This has not only been the best experience for my sister and I who were our mothers caregiver for years, but this is also an incredible experience for our mother. When we say the staff members there are top notch, they are top notch. They are the most pleasant and most giving of their time. The memory care unit is amazing, they have met every expectation. During the big storm our loved ones routine was not interrupted, they were able to keep the residents safe. We have spent so much more quality time with our loved one. We are truly grateful, and the staff members there are just something else.

Vista Shores is a beautiful place. Rooms are cute apartments that my niece wished she had when she went to college. The atmosphere is joyful and homey. Staff are wonderful. They have a wide variety of daily activities to participate in. You can walk around outdoors to the bayou or sit on the porches or sunrooms around the facility. Food is good and plentiful. Facility is very clean.

This is a nice community, and my tour of it went very well. Everyone was kind to my family, and myself. The community looked clean, everything we saw looked good. The staff we met was kind, and courtesy. Our questions were answered. The experience was a good one.

This community was not what we wanted. The menu was terrible and the variety was not healthy. The staff were very nice. The community is beautiful, but they staff informed me that they only clean once a week and not when something needs to be done. There were times that the staff did not speak to the residents very well.They do have activities for the residents who are able to participate.I would not recommend this community to other families for care.

I got a very good impression with our visit. The residents appear happy. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The residence was bright and cheerful. From what I was told I feel that my mother will get excellent care there. They will cater to needs from the food they serve her to whatever daily assistance is needed. Very pleased.

The facility was nice; about the same layout and type of furnishings as Sunrise. Has the same owner as Ashton Manor. Residents seemed alert. Staff was friendly.
