Oakwood Village Assisted Living in Zachary, LA
4.1

The staff and residents are very nice and they would be happy with Oakwood Village. It's a place I would recommend to others. We picked this community, because of the friendliness of staf and cost.

Williamsburg Senior Living Community in Baton Rouge, LA
3.9

The community at Williamsburg Senior Living seems to fit Mom's needs fairly well. She does not drive anymore and had limited social interaction opportunities. She is starting to engage in the activities offered by Williamsburg. Her apartment is somewhat dated but seems to fit her needs. She believes there could be improvement in the meals. She says she is content with her decision to sell her house of over 20 years and move into Williamsburg. Its only been a few moths so time will tell if this continues to suit her needs Overall based on just a few months stay I would recommend this place to others.

Francois Bend Senior Living & Memory Care in Gonzales, LA
5.0

At firs, we picked this community because it is close to my son's house, but after both of us living here we are very satisfied. Not as rigid as the former Senior Star but run with common sense. Family friendly with lots of activities including live music every Friday afternoon. Meals are good and the place is Christian friendly.

Denham Springs, Louisiana

Independent Living

For those who would like to live primarily without personal care assistance but wish for the convenience of having housekeeping handled by professionalls, an Independent Living Community may be the perfect option. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping chores are taken care of for you while you are able to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies vary between locations, numerous residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of private health care providers, they may always do so. There are a number of expenses and benefits to keep in mind while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in the plan: initial assessment fee, housekeeping, transportation, parking, cable TV, wellness program, private phone, and utilities. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include private rental hall, transportation, healthcare center, laundry service, community activities, concierge services, security guards, and restaurant-style dining hall.
