We explored a number of options, and was very impressed with the proffesionalism at Veranda. I am glad we made this choice, for my loved one.
The community was very helpful and friendly. They were easy to work with. The community does allow window visits. Once my loved one was placed on hospice we were able to see them in person. The nursing staff were pretty quick to respond to our questions about our loved one.
The staff are very, very kind and interested in the residents. They give 5-star service. They're also very interested in interacting with the families, and they welcome the families to come visit. If they have any staff shortages, the administrators will even fill in. They have great communication with emails and phone calls. And the food is quite good.

Many seniors may be capable of living without assistance, but the financial burden of home ownership and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might be a deterrent to enjoying an otherwise independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities provide a great alternative to this situation. Daily needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are taken care of, which provides occupants more free time to live active lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to their own private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they prefer. While policies vary between locations, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of independent medical professionalls, they always have the option. There are a number of benefits and expenses to keep in mind when selecting an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in the service plan: laundry, parking, internet access, utilities, initial assessment fee, wellness program, field trips, and housekeeping. The benefits and amenities that pertain to independent living include fitness center & swimming pool, golf course, security guards, healthcare center, concierge services, game/TV room, laundry service, and transportation.
