We explored a number of options, and was very impressed with the proffesionalism at Veranda. I am glad we made this choice, for my loved one.

Grace Assisted Living at Fairview Lakes in Meridian, ID

The community was very helpful and friendly. They were easy to work with. The community does allow window visits. Once my loved one was placed on hospice we were able to see them in person. The nursing staff were pretty quick to respond to our questions about our loved one.

Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village in Meridian, ID
4.7

The staff are very, very kind and interested in the residents. They give 5-star service. They're also very interested in interacting with the families, and they welcome the families to come visit. If they have any staff shortages, the administrators will even fill in. They have great communication with emails and phone calls. And the food is quite good.

Complete guide to independent living

Middleton, Idaho

Independent Living

For seniors who would prefer to live primarily without assistance but wish for the assistance of having their household chores maintained by professionalls, an Independent Living Community might be the perfect option. Basic needs such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents an opportunity to use their time as they choose, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies vary between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing care is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private caregivers. There are a variety of advantages and costs to balance while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in your care plan: laundry, transportation, wellness program, internet access, parking, field trips, housekeeping, and cable TV. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, private rental hall, concierge services, laundry service, community activities, golf course, and game/TV room.
