American House Hamilton Place in Chattanooga, TN

We have been impressed by the care of the staff. They really just "love my mother" and let her know! The place is small enough that one does not feel as if one is in an institution. Any time there is a concern, we can call or stop by and talk to admin., who are very quick to address the issue. All of the staff do all of the work. I've seen the Executive Director, and the head of Nursing, serving meals and cleaning up!

Rocky Face, Georgia

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities offer seniors a handy harmony between an opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with housekeeping. Daily needs such as meal planning and housekeeping are taken care of, allowing residents more free time to live life as they desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to entertain guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies vary between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a number of costs and advantages to consider when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are covered in your plan: housekeeping, laundry, field trips, move-in fee, wellness program, cable TV, internet access, and meals. The benefits associated with independent living include laundry service, beauty salon & barber shop, game/TV room, golf course, community activities, fitness center & swimming pool, private rental hall, and transportation.
