Response from Oaks at Dalton
January 18, 2024Pamela - Thank you for the five star review and recommendation of our community.
We chose Morningside of Dalton because of the location as well as the the value for the money. I also had recommendations from people I knew who had their loved ones here. She has a smaller room, but it is sufficient for what she needs. The staff all seem to be very friendly and helpful. I do like that it is a smaller facility, only about 40 residents so it wont get overcrowded. She seems to be happy with the food. I would recommend to others looking

September 7, 2021Thank you for the kind words and your review! Welcome to our Family!
Oaks at Dalton was a dump. Having driven by it in the area often, I didn't even want to see it, but my family did so I went along. The more I saw of it, the more I thought it was a dump.

Two and a half years ago, after breaking her shoulder our grandmother was faced with the decision of going to an assisted living while it was still an option for her. After going to a couple of other assisted living homes Morningside was definitely our first choice, we were thrilled with her moving there. Everyone is so inviting and loves our grandmother as if she were their grandmother, they treat her with the utmost respect and take care of her everyday needs, they go above and beyond and we love them all dearly. I would definitely recommend Morningside to any family that was in need of assisted living for a loved one

Worst place I have ever toured. Short staffed & the Executive Director was one of the rudest people I have ever met. Looks & smells like a nursing home.

September 8, 2017I am the Executive Director and I am sincerely interested in your comments. I had never been to Morningside before last year, and I have no connection to it other than my mother's 9-month stay there. I did a lot of research when looking for a safe, dependable place for my mother as she was approaching her 100th birthday. I asked several of my Dalton friends for recommendations, then I looked at four different facilities in the Dalton area and visited all four several months in advance so the transition would be smooth. I was worried that my mother would rebel when I took her for a temporary stay following a fall. Within three days in Morningside's "respite room" she was already telling me she loved it there! The following month we moved her into a permanent room and she quickly made friends and felt right at home. The staff was wonderful and seemed to genuinely care about all their residents. They were very patient with my mother and I witnessed the same with other residents who were much less self-sufficient than Mom was. It was clean, the food service was very good and the front lobby/visiting area was very nice. It is a relatively small facility, so the residents get great personal attention. Lots of activities and scenic bus rides available. It's located at the foot of Dug Gap Mountain with immaculately manicured landscaping. Ken is a great director and Toni, the activities director can't be beat. Easy to understand base rates with no surprise fees. I highly recommend Morningside!

They're doing a fabulous job here so far, I'd give them top marks across the board. We've had my loved one in a few different place,s and this is our favorite so far. Dad can be very hard to deal with, but they've handled him well so far. He had very good things to say about the food!

A Place for Mom has scored Oaks at Dalton 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
