Administrative staff are responsive and always helpful Areas for improvements: Food: variety and attention to nutrition. I know it might be challenging to feed old people and my aunt declines anything with meat in it, being vegetarian, so maybe I'm not being fair. They are good to accommodate her with food alternatives that I provide. And Sometimes I think it varies with who is cooking. Activities: I've seen some crafts lately done by my family members so I know something is happening. But I don't see schedules of activities like you see in many homes. It is comforting to know their policy of checking in on every resident every hour through the night. That is worth so much. There are so many good things about the care and attentiveness and individual attention given there. The caregivers of course are different people and there seems to be some turnover but I have been happy all of them.

I wouldn't recommend Pleasant Valley to anyone. The place smelled, staff was busy taking care of their own kids at work, there were no appropriate extra activities, and the food was not edible. My dad bought food to show the staff how to make a good meal for the residents, and they made it for themselves and their kids who were at work with them! My dad spent most of his time going out around town or outside. When I complained to [name removed] about the food, the manager (owner?), she was completely disinterested and said that's what they always cook. A typical meal was plain oatmeal, mashed potatoes, and pudding or plain applesauce. Rarely did they serve meat or vegetables or anything resembling a normal meal.

I like the country setting, I like having it close to where I live, I like the family atmosphere with only 24 residents, so that each one is known and loved. There's a lot of love in this place. Every Resident is checked on every hour through the night. I'm not sure about the activities. There are not a lot of activities that I am aware of. As for the food, they make appetizing meals and serve residents in a family-type atmosphere. I would recommend Pleasant Valley to others.

The communication is great. I don't have any suggestions on improvement. My Mom lives there now because my Grandmother lived there before and we knew it was a good place.

Pleasant Valley is a nice clean community and acceptably pleasing to look at, they could use minor upgrades but nothing extreme. The meals are not good at all they could use better quality and just more options. Our loved one really does like the activities and really like the workers there. Our loved one really likes the scenery, it is in a wooded area that has some wildlife

Pleasant Valley Personal Care was wonderful. The people who own it are lovely people. They were cooking lunch when we were there, and it looked like good ol’ country cooking. But it is very small. The room was very small. And my mom has a lot of stuff. We just couldn't have downsized her enough to make it work. But the people were so lovely.
They have a website and you can see pictures of your loved ones doing the activities and I love it since I live 4 hours away. They look like they have a ton going on to keep the residents. My mom absolutely loves the food - from the times I have seen it it looks great. Overall its been a great experience and we would highly recommend Pleasant Valley Personal Care to others.

After touring this facility it was just not what we were looking for for my mom.
My father is doing well here at this community. The community is pretty well maintained, they do a good job with the cleaning. The staff is kind and friendly, one thing I have noticed is that there are no RN's here at this community. The rates fit our budget. Food isn't the best, but he has gained some weight since his move. The administering of medicine can be a hassle sometimes. We get his medicine from Humana, from there we have to take it to their pharmacy for re-packing and they charge us. Overall we know he is being cared for well. I would recommend it.

Toured all the surrounding homes before choosing Pleasant Valley but Pleasant Valley just seemed like home. Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, open kitchen/dining area and lots of outdoor space. The gardens and pond were just an extra surprise! The casual country environment they have created suited our family. We couldn't be happier with our choice of Pleasant Valley.

A Place for Mom has scored Pleasant Valley Personal Care 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
