Everyone was incredibly friendly at Waterstone, and helpful when my sister moved in. Also, the new head of nursing is raising the bar on the support being provided by the aides.

Would definitely recommend. One reason I picked this community is because of the location.

My mother is happy with the Waterstone. It was more problematic for my father, who was in memory care. They oversold the capabilities of their memory care unit and we had to move him. (He has since passed away.) On activities, my mother said there are some but not a lot. Or at least not a lot she's interested in.

Administrative staff has been great. Based on what my sister shares, the food served is not very tasty. I think that they could have more of a variety on the menu.

I would tell a friend the staff, especially the executive nursing, marketing, PT and administrative staff are extremely kind and responsive to any concerns. The facility is very clean and quite frankly, never smells like a hospital or nursing facility. While nothing is perfect, this has been a very good option for my parents. I chose Waterstone on Augusta because of the cleanliness, the friendliness, and the variety of care available. My mother has dementia and needed to come to Waterstone when my dad fell and broke his femur. It was important for me to be able to keep my parents together. Dad was able to continue his rehab at Waterstone after he was released from a rehab facility and mom has been able to stay in an apartment with him. Memory care is available should mom need it, but so far we've been able to manage her care without that option.

My mom lived her for 4 months before I had to pull her out for her own safety and health. No organization and different people would show up every day with no idea what to do. She was given cold showers and the trash was never removed unless I did it myself. Last straw was they sent her to the hospital and didn’t notify me where she was and I didn’t see her till the next day. Turns out she had fallen and no one noticed she had a large bruise and swelling of her wrist. Just awful-don’t be fooled by the nice exterior.

My loved one is currently a resident at Waterstone on Augusta and overall her experience at this facility has been okay so far. The cleanliness and friendliness are good. The staff, care services, activities and food have all been okay. Overall, the experience at this facility has been okay but I wouldn't say that it has been without issues.

Our main and largest problem at Waterstone on Augusta was communication with the staff. When I say staff, I mean the upper level staff not the caregiver or regular facility staff. All of the assistants and servers, etc. were extremely helpful, but only to the point that they could be. The upper level staff would not return phone calls, emails or texts. On two occasions, the employee left Waterstone and we continued sending them texts and finally called the front desk to find out. They had been gone for up to two weeks. This was unacceptable. They also brought my mother-in-law food to her room but no one checked to see if she ate it. Again, unacceptable. Overall, the staff were nice friendly and so on, but very seldom did they follow up on what they said they were going to do. Even the bookkeeper was the same. I called her three times and left a message every day. She never answered it. When I went up there, I asked to see her and they said no. I said no is not acceptable and I need to see her now. She came out and I asked her what was going on. She explained that she'd been busy blah blah blah. Again, unacceptable. I asked her to itemize the invoices, she did not. The fact that we lived a 4 hour drive away was a problem that they did not seem to want to address. We could not go by there daily. We were up there as much as we could be, but that was a couple to three days a week. We spent an excess of $[removed] driving back-and-forth in 6 weeks. Our other family members are physically unable to be of much help. For some reason, the staff did not understand this or the fact that we could not be there like a lot of people could be. My mother-in-law passed away in July, after a major stroke she was found unresponsive in her room. In hindsight, my wife wishes that she had rented an apartment. However, we did not know that my mother-in-law was going to have another stroke in July and pass away a week later.

We toured Waterstone on Augusta during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility was great, I was very pleased with it. However, my loved one didn't favor this facility because it was on three levels and seemed too big. She gets disoriented easily.
We've been extremely happy with the management at Waterstone. If there are any challenges, they work hard to correct them. I live hours away from Greenville, but the Waterstone staff has helped me manage everything I've needed to help my parents transition into assisted living. I would recommend to others.

The staff is wonderful. They keep us up-to-date on Mom and her situation. The caregivers have also been very nice. My mom feels really comfortable and safe there, and that's important to us.

I'm happy with the communication Waterstone gives me. If I haven't been to visit, I receive updates on how my loved one is doing. I feel like she is receiving quality care. It's an attractive community and is always clean and neat when I come to visit.

Waterstone on August was way too big. It was three stories, with long hallways and no signs directing you to different areas. My loved one would have gotten lost there. It was new, but because of that, it was only about a third full, so there were not a lot of people there.
It is very clean and feels like you are walking into a hotel. They are helpful but whenever he has pushed his button the response time has been very slow. In the first week or 2 they also missed giving him his medications on a few different occasions. He absolutely loves the lady who drives him to his appointments- from what we have seen the staff have always been friendly. It it the nicest place out of all of the ones that we looked at. My loved one is getting involved and trying to make the best out of it. I would just tell others to make sure to stay on top of things.

The assisted living side gets all of the attention the best activities, dining experiences, more staff, etc. The memory care side seems to be the place to "put" the residents until they die. The commons area where the TV is located is dark, uncomfortable chairs, and not homey. They are extremely understaffed for this population and the ones they do have aren't properly trained. The management is aware of the issue with staffing and we are told they are working on it. When I went to visit last week, there were 3 ladies with bruised areas on their face where they had fallen in the same week. That tells you they aren't properly supervised or staffed. On a positive note, the management is very responsive to my calls and concerns and I believe they truly want things to improve. I just think they should be working alternative schedules to fill in the staffing gaps until it's resolved. I don't see that happening. I am currently on a waiting list at another facility and will be moving my mom.

It's a good facility. I think they're a little short-staffed right now, and because of that, response times are slower. But the staff that are there are friendly. I rate the facility itself highly as far as cleanliness. The food is good and seems more like home cooked. And they have plenty of activities - they go on some outings, have movie nights, devotional/ church services, happy hours, crafts, etc.

[Removed] were a great help and source of advice during my visit today. Waterstone is a new AL community in a great location. Their Memory Care area is beautifully set up and the activities calendar is evolving to encompass a lot of diversified activities. Waterstone definitely stays on the list of possible placement for my Mother.
