Disappointed

In the past 21/2 yrs. things have changed. It was supposedly Senior Independent but has become more Assisted. Many have moved out. Really unsure re: value for my money at this point as I'm still very mobile. Problems with maintenance for many. Housekeeping - so so. Always something going wrong with building itself. Elevators, pool, etc. down a lot. I eat in dining rm maybe once a week. Some days better than others. Activities - ok Rooms for exercising too small. Seems to be a turnover in Staff

Sense of community. At Atria almost everyone ate breakfast and lunch every day in the dining room. Here we only eat in the dining room a few times a month so it is difficult to meet people. The tables at atria seated six or seven so the odds are you would be sitting with somebody that was new and or interesting. We have a two bedroom two full bathroom apartment. I don't know the square foot but it is large in my view with an extremely large kitchen. I am sharing all this because I hope it will help someone else who is looking for a place for themselves or a loved one. Although your agency claimed to find this for me that was not the case. Watermere was not linked with A Place for Mom. I actually heard people in Atria talking about moving here and I came to see it with my husband. The sales director informed me that A Place for Mom was trying to get credit for my placement here and I reiterated that A Place for Mom was not involved. Out of courtesy I informed my caseworker with A Place for Mom that we were moving here but in no way was she involved in our finding this place or deciding to move here and I was disappointed that A Place for Mom stated otherwise. I doubt that I would use A Place for Mom again if needed due to this past experience. However I know that you will have contact with many people who need a place so I am providing you this information. It is my understanding that all the two bedrooms here are taken and only one bedroom apartments are left. I don't know what a one bedroom cost and I know that the cost also varies on location so for what it is worth we are paying $[removed] a month for two people.

Happy Experience w/ friendly staff

I gave it a 3 due to some glitches I have had since moving in. Our transportation guy is a former No. Richland Hills policeman - he is very accommodating and helpful. The receptionist [name removed] is very good. The assistant activities director took over in December - a little young. [name removed] our executive director works well with corporate to solve problems. I've enjoyed all the people I've met here. I like it here as the location is close to my son.

A Place for Mom has scored Watermere at the Preserve 7.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
