The Staff at Sequoia Assisted Living community are friendly and helpful and have done their best to make my Mom feel welcome. She had a fall once in the middle of the night and they immediately responded to her pressing the call button, got her up and reorient and settled her. I know she is safe there.

Response from The Sequoia Assisted Living
January 10, 2024Thank you for your wonderful review of The Sequoia. We are glad your mother feels safe and secure with us.
We toured with The Sequoia and it was a very close first contender. The facility and the staff were both very nice. The room sizes were just a little bit bigger at [facility name removed] and we thought the shower set up was much safer. That was the main reason we chose them instead.
Response from The Sequoia Assisted Living
July 25, 2023Thank you so much for your kind words! Regardless of which facility you chose, we appreciate your comments about our wonderful staff! We are indeed fortunate to have such a great team. Best wishes to you and your family, thanks again for the positive review!
Toured the Sequoia on Friday and was taken away by how ambient is the feel of the place. Spacious, very calm, with lots of outdoor patios and balconies. Sequoia's renovated interior looks elegant and tasteful to the last detail. You feel as if you are at the retreat. Impressive choice of things to do dazzled me with a cooking master class! Yes, I am a foodie, and this along would be a deciding factor for me. What's more engaging then learning from [name removed] - a head chef with over 30 year s of restaurant experience! it is like being on the Food channel every week! Wow! the staff is so collaborative and helpful, yes, Sequoia is a place to be!

Response from The Sequoia Assisted Living
June 2, 2023Hi Natalia, thank you so much for your positive comments about The Sequoia Assisted Living Community! If you have any further questions, please give us a call. We're always happy to help!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding of how things worked. The facility was a little too quiet for my mother-in- law.
Very pleasant environment. The location provided easy access to medical appointments and pharmaceutical needs. I was comfortable knowing my uncle was being well taken care of.

This community is far more attentive towards the residents needs than another community my loved one was at. We appreciate the timeliness in responding to the resident's requests as well. The staff communication with the family is wonderful, and they are responsive to our questions and concerns about our loved one. There are three meals a day served. The food is average for my loved one, and there is always plenty to eat.

The staff has been amazing. They are friendly and attentive. Anything that I have asked for from the nursing staff or office has been provided for us immediately. They accept and welcome family involvement at all times. The cost is the best value that we found in the area after researching many, many other facilities. Being a smaller facility makes it seem more home like. The location is fantastic. Close to the hospital and many other doctors/specialists offices. Our family is very pleased with this choice for our parents. Our parents are being cared for, and we can breathe again.

We moved my mother into The Sequoia, almost a year ago. My mother says she loved living here. She is socializing more everyday and participates in some of the many scheduled activities. I have had and continue to have great communications with staff especially [name removed]

The people at the "front" desk are friendly and hospitable. The staff is very helpful. What the Sequoia does is a hard job and what we pay for it I'm pleased. My mom is happy and that is the most important thing.

Place understaffed for Years- I was there 3 yrs and it was hell. Crappy food. Admin not working with staff. If it is still an issue, there were only caregivers working at night. No nurses. Felt unsafe. Cutting corners when all have been cut already. Never again.

This place is understaffed. Staff is undertrained. Food is high in sodium and preservatives. Its a shame honestly that quality care cannot be given to our most valuable members of our society - our elders.... Staff means well but they are over worked due to corporate levels of management most likely.

A very nice facility and exceptional staff. I found that the complex being of an older design did not provide apartments with an adequate kitchen area... small appliances and in a closet so no real kitchen that would provide for an easier transition from a home to an apartment.

A Place for Mom has scored The Sequoia Assisted Living 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
