I will give all categories a 5. Brookdale Olympia East was the perfect choice. We definitely made the right decision for our sister. Based on the experience we have had with this community, we would recommend them to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

Brookdale Olympia East is a very friendly facility. As far as the activities go, they are WONDERFUL! But I would like to see more personal effort from staff to join in, and something for sight and/or hearing impaired. I would recommend this facility to others looking.

I have lived here just over 7 months and have found it to be quite friendly and everyone I have come across is pleasant, nice and easy to visit with. Considering, I did not expect to be here, it has gone very well and people are all kind. The only issue that I've had is needing a spot in my carpet shampooed that I think was forgotten and some help hangin some pictures. But overall, the staff is very responsive and everyone is friendly.

I did not want to move into senior living. The thing that helped me the most was after I had been here a couple weeks, I was walking the halls and saw a sign on a neighbors door that said, "So this isn't home sweet home... ADJUST." And it changed my perspective, made me laugh and helped me come to the conclusion that God has me here for a reason. I like to reach out to people that are sitting alone and make sure they feel like they have someone to talk to. I am slowly coming to feel like this actually is home sweet home.

I moved into Brookdale Olympia East about 6 months ago and would recommend it to anyone looking for a positve environment for senior living. The staff is very caring and kind and the residents are so friendly. There are always going to be things that come up in any community but I have found all concerns to be dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Staff was amazing and a huge comfort during an extremely stressful, scary and emotional time for me family. It was a huge comfort to have the support of such caring and knowledgeable staff. Our experience with Brookdale Olympia East was very positive.

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Olympia East and the experience has been great so far. This facility is beautiful. There are a lot of activities to keep the residents busy. All of the residents and staff are very friendly to newcomers and seem to get along very well.

Follow through has not been great. For instance in April I talked with the director and it was decided mom would have an evaluation to see if she needed assistance nothing happened. So I called the director in June left a message and did not receive a callback. I was in Olympia last week and set up an appointment to talk with the director, showed up for the meeting and in stead the director it was the financial person. She listened and said the nurse got in at noon and would contact her, and get back to us. That was last Friday, by Monday afternoon there was still no word so I went to the nurse and asked her it she had been contacted the answer was no. So I asked the nurse to set up the evaluation. To be fair there were some things brought up in the meeting with the finance person that did take place immediately ( carpet cleaning and an outlet check.) Communication and follow through do not seem be a strong point there. The staff is SO caring and friendly with the residents, always calling them by name speaking to them in the halls or when ever they see them. I have been extremely impressed with this aspect of the facility.

Communication with showering did not happen for two months. I would tell others looking into Brookdale Olympia East just to make sure and check on the care your loved one should be receiving. It was paid for. Overall it has been a positive experience and I would recommend this facility to others looking.

I filed a complaint about them with the Atty General WA. Had to struggle over billing, services, and lack of communication. It's an industry thing I think, and I hope it makes a difference in the long run. They sold care for people and delivered care for corporate.

People are friendly. The food is good. Their communication definitely needs work. Difficult getting questions answered/ things followed through on. I've been asked to email the entire staff whenever I have an issue or request (rather than health issues to the head nurse and business issues to the account manager).

I do think they could improve on the move in process and help the families and residents get acclimated. They seem receptive and like they really care but it does take a little time. My loved is receiving great care, but the communication from the staff is what could be improved on. My loved one loves the food and is participating in some of they activities that they have provided.. The staff themselves have been great.

I would not recommend Brookdale Olympia East to anyone. Besides a few staff, it was unbelievably inept on every level. I had an Ombudsman and filed a complaint with the state. It was difficult to contact corporate, work with management and even though my Mom has moved from there I'm still having to deal with them. Emphatic DO NOT RECOMMEND!
They are very friendly but somewhat disorganized. It takes a few calls to get things straightened out. Activities are really limited. Only so many can participate at one time due to covid, etc. The dining setup is lovely and meals are wonderful. My loved one is really enjoying them.

March 23, 2022Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact our management team.
in the beginning our experience with Brookdale was good, they were very responsive. we put down a deposit for my loved one to move in, but unfortunately they passed away before being able to use Brookdale's services. we've asked for a refund of the community fees/deposit and have yet to receive it. my only complaint would be that it took a while and multiple phone calls to receive a response.
I would advise others not to come here. my loved one only stayed at Brookdale Olympia for a short while, and I have made many requests following her departure. I've requested both the return of paperwork and a returned phone call to discuss some questions I had. I have never received a single call back from anyone, aside from the nurse. the nurse was very responsive and I liked her tremendously. however, there seems to be a serious lack of communication amongst everyone else, I am in total disgust with how they've handled things.

My loved one likes the breakfasts but doesn't enjoy the rest of the food. It would be good to see more activities towards men such as movie choices. It is very clean and very organized. The people are friendly and there are lots of choices for activities. I like there is a walkway around the building and exercise classes available.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Olympia East 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
