The Reserve at North Dallas

Mom moved in a few months ago and has enjoyed herself very much. There are plenty of activities and she has made many friends. The staff is friendly and the dining room staff is top notch. Having transportation to her doctors appointments have helped me tremendously.

I wanted a place with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, at least covered parking, and good food, which I found at the Reserve at North Dallas.

Our biggest complaint is that they are disorganized, however the staff seems nice and friendly. At the moment we are not sure if we would recommend The Reserve to others. Its a mixed review from me, if they could just get better organized.

Food is awful, maintenance takes weeks. Their answer for everything is “we can’t. We are under new management." That’s the full story.

It is always a hard transition. But everyone is so kind, including the residents, which is very helpful.

A nice place to live. Many activities. Staff are pleasant and willing to help & answer questions. The only downside is that the evening. Meals do not arrive hot, just barely warm. The wait staff need more supervision.

I am currently a resident at The Reserve at North Dallas and overall the experience has been great so far. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. Based on my experience, I would recommend this facility to others.

My mom did enjoy the time that she was at The Reserve. She loved playing bingo, started to make friends and had wanted to join the book club. Said the food was especially good, too. However, it is very, very difficult to get a response from anyone when trying to communicate with them. We tried for weeks to get someone to talk with us on assisted living options. In person request, emails and voicemails. Once we were able to talk with someone, they were wonderful, very helpful and nice to deal with. The same thing when we were trying to advise them of mom's passing. Again, very kind and great to work with once we got someone to respond. In all fairness, most likely they, as most places, are understaffed and overworked so we did try and make allowances for that. Staff was always pleasant and helpful- dealt with [name removed] a lot and he was great! And the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Resident Services Director is very helpful and accommodating. Curious as to why only 2 meals provided per day? Overall Reserve at North Dallas is a great facility with staff that cares about their residents.

My loved one has been happy so far. As of right now, we would recommend the facility.We picked this community, because of the affordability and it offered all the amenities we were looking for. The building is for sale so we are hoping nothing changes.

We were only there for a few months. Everyone seemed nice, but it is up to the resident to make the choice to go to dining room and to engage in activities since it is independent living. I do wish they were better at communication though. It was like once they received our initial payment, all bets were off and reply to emails were very slow.

They could work on improve their staffing which would help with the house keeping and the overall cleanliness.

I appreciated working with The Reserve. They were very friendly and respectful in answering all the family's questions; however, they also got to know my loved one that would be in the community. This was the best value for the money that we could find. Some of the activities available include transportation religious services, bingo, entertainment, bible studies, puzzle clubs, poker, movies, library, art classes, and more for the residents to choose from. There is a total of 22 different clubs for the residents to join, if they would like. There is a shuttle to the Jewish Community Center Monday through Friday, this is a nice option for the residents who are of this faith. There is also shuttle on Sundays for the residents who go would like to go to church services. The independent side of the community provides two meals a day.

The staff are very friendly, and the activities so far have been great but we do wish they had a little bit more on the assisted living side. Sometimes at night when we try and call there is no one available at the front desk and sometimes when we call the nurses station no one is there either. The communication could be improved but it has been a very nice experience so far, and our loved one is thriving.

I would select this community again. I would advise that there is not a hot breakfast and there is a lunch or a dinner. The people are very friendly and helpful at this community. They have activities like Spanish classes, art classes, current events, we play games , poker, bingo and more for the residents to participate in. They also have transportation that will take you whenever you would like to go and they even offer rides to church. They also have weekly trips to the stores and regular outings to eat at local restaurants.
