Overall great place. Nursing care and organization is not the greatest and they seem to struggle with the food and cooks area but overall good. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend them to other families.

Truly appreciate all the staff for their personalized care, respect and love they are giving my Mom. She was struggling at home and now she is smiling even laughing again. From all the live entertainment, arts & crafts, especially Mind, Body and Soul to all the outings. My entire family always feels welcomed and invited to participate. Great place for your loved one!

I actually lost my mother there [date removed] . She was doing well & to my shock she fell in the night on a Saturday fracturing her hip. I blame lack of care & supervision by the night/weekend staffing. The last few weeks of her life were very disturbing & surprising to me. Most of the personnel were ok, food not that great & a few had bad attitudes. The way I see it with my extreme "facility" experience residents are numbers filling the space. I found a few staffing that truly seemed to care. I would not take my mother there again. Would not recommend. Room for improvement.

My father, who has Alzheimer's, has been happy there. They've been very supportive. I would recommend to others.

Dad's room is not always clean when I visit. The carpet does not appear to be vacuumed, the entryway does not appear that it has been cleaned. And the bathroom never seems clean especially the toilet area. Staff is cordial but it's not always available. There are times that I have called and never get a person to talk to on the other end. [name removed] at the reception desk is exceptional! No complaints about the food Dad said he walks the parking lot but I'm not aware of any other activities that he participates in. Value for the money I believe is fair but I don't agree with having to pay extra $$ every month to encourage residents to take their meds

They seem to do everything that needs to be done but sometimes have trouble following through with things we ask them to do. No complaints about safety or adequate care, though. The fact that they accept medicaid after 2 years was a primary factor in our choice.

It's a good place to send a family member. Wish they handled meds and perscriptions better but overall we have had a good experience and glad that my father in law has a good place to go with caring people and fun things that keep him on a schedule and motivated. We picked this community because of the cost, cleanliness, and proximity to our home.

It was fairly priced and the staff and administrators I met were very nice and cordial. Make sure all the staff folks knows what's going on, follow up on them because they do not communicate with each other very well, the administration staff doesn't follow up on complaints, the medical treatment takes 3-4 times longer than a visit to a doctor. A doctor and Psychiatrist may be on staff but are not readily available to see residents. A psychiatrist is not the same as a psychologist available to help residents cope with their new environment. A psychiatrist is not necessary unless you want your loved one to have new drugs to cope with their new environment. Which is not a good thing. Aides don't always follow instructions concerning a residents needs or abilities. I'm constantly following up on the to do what needs to be done.

The Piper could definitely add more activities for the residents, our loved one is bored and spends way to much him in her apartment. Most of the staff is young and not very friendly (according to our loved one). She has been there for [date removed] and has had less then 5 showers. I have spoken to the director and she said it would be addressed but has not gotten better as of yet.

We could have not had a better experience! Mom almost never had to wait to get care. It was immediate! They would even sit in her room with her when she was afraid or lonely! Excellent care! It was a relief to know there were 2 caregivers, not 1. [name removed] were informative and kind to all family members visiting. Family felt welcome to come by at any time. It couldn't have been a better experience all around! There is no better choice! The care from both caregivers was loving and caring. My Mom rarely waited for help. The food was very good! The entire home was always shining clean. If someone wet the bed, they were changed and cleaned immediately in a loving way. I had not experienced this level of care anywhere else!

Should provide a staff to be present when moving in to answer questions and orient to schedule, resources, etc. The staff was great. Only had a bad experience with one staff member. Spoke to the director to resolve the issues. Would recommend a better communication process with the MD and NP. Otherwise, it was a great facility and I would recommend it to anyone!

We toured with The Piper and the tour itself was great. We were looking at another facility and just felt that the value for the money was much better.
The main reason we chose The Piper was because it's 10 minutes from my home. They do have housekeeping and It is very clean and well maintained. Lots of activities but unfortunately my mother is not being very social but they keep trying to get her to participate. The first month is definitely an adjustment period for all, we've had some issues but all have been resolved and yes I would definitely recommend The Piper for assisted living.

[name removed], LPN, in the Rosedale Unit, is Awesome. She is very Professional and Goes Above and Beyond for the residents in her Unit. Although short staffed and overworked, [name removed] always has a Smile and is very respectful to all residents and Family. She is very kind, compassionate and Professional. If you had other employees with her Qualities you would have more satisfied patients. [name removed] should be Recognized for her Outstanding Performance and Receive a Cash Award.

I liked what I saw from the tour we had. It is a really nice place. They gave us a good tour. We were going to select the community but she got sick and we went to a different facility. They were real nice and gave information about what they offer.

This is a beautiful community, and my tour of it went very well. They are very well staffed, and everyone was very kind. I enjoyed the fact they have onsite chef, and he was very friendly. Unfortunately the location wasn't convenient for our families to travel too, but my tour was a good experience.

We were impressed in the beginning, but now that mom has been there almost a month we are somewhat disheartened. Her room had not been vacuumed for the entire month because it was broken. The call button was being pushed but no help came for multiple hours at a time. The problem continued even though they did research the problem. Then 3 weeks later, we discovered the button only records calls if you hold the button down firmly for a period of time(although I pushed it the same way and sometimes it worked and some times not so much.) There are some very awesome people who work there, but there are also people who are always on their phone Facebook while residents in memory care meander around without support.

My husband is very happy at this facility. The staff bends over backwards for excellent care. The food is like gourmet cooking. My husband is very happy at this facility. A very clean environment inside and out. There are activities offered for those who want to keep active. We highly recommend this community for others

A Place for Mom has scored The Piper 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
