My family and I couldn't be happier with The Monarch at Round Rock. From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we had found a truly special place for our dad. The care and attention to detail provided by the entire team, led by the exceptional Executive Director and the warm and welcoming Concierge have exceeded our expectations in every way possible. From the very beginning, [names removed] took the time to sit down with us, listen to our concerns, and understand our dad's unique needs. They had expertise and compassion, it shone through as they guided us through the transition process, making it as smooth and stress-free as possible. [name removed], our wonderful Concierge, has been an absolute delight to work with. Her warm smile and genuine kindness have made us feel like part of the Monarch family from day one. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every resident and their family members feel welcome.

June 12, 2024Thank you for your wonderful review of The Monarch at Round Rock. We're delighted to hear that you and your family are happy with the care your dad receives. I had a great experience with the Poet's Walk team. I was looking for a community for my father, who lived in the area. I live out of state and was very nervous to search for a community for him. I worked with the Sales Director and she was wonderful. She offered me a Facetime tour, which I accepted. I could see and hear lots of laughter and joy. The community was very clean, well decorated, and well laid out. After the phone tour, I came into town for a trip to see multiple communities. I toured Poet's Walk a couple of times with additional family members. The Poet's Walk team was great at communicating with me and cared about what my father needed and the troubles we were experiencing with his dementia. It was a very seamless process and all of the caregivers were genuine, attentive, and kind. The kitchen team were always laughing and making meals seem lively and fun. Unfortunately, our father passed away before he moved into the community - but we loved our experience.

The people that work there are very caring and patient with the residents. My mom has been there for almost a year and I have seen her adjust well. The nurse staff is very helpful if you have any questions. They recommend any procedures that need to be done, and they do them there when it comes to their health. As hard as it is to transition, I loved one to a facility, this would be a good choice. Clean and good activities

The staff members at Poet's Walk Round Rock are wonderful. The community is always clean and there are plenty of different activities for the residents to participate in. The environment is always a pleasant one. The communication with the staff is great. There has been a huge noticeable change in my dad since he's been there.

Everyone there seems to care about the residents and are invested in their care. The facility is well kept, issues are dealt with immediately and the staff LISTENS to the family members. The room sizes/accommodations in memory acre are sufficient. The smaller rooms are big enough for a single bed, dresser and a chair if you want one in there. I would definitely recommend Poet's Walk Round Rock to others looking for memory care.

Our family had an in person tour with Poet's Walk and they answered all questions when asked. Tour general. Not knowable on specific dementia systems and care. Could not give average time frame of employee turnover. Did give evidence of including all residents even bed ridden in activities. Staff communicates with tablets so kept current of residents status. Was still impressed with place.
The techs were okay and did the best they could under the circumstances. I think it was an issue with the administrative staff. They need to take a closer look at how they run the facility and the help they provide, because it's not adequate. With 38 clients, they only had two techs and a med aide on the floor on each shift. And the med aide doesn't assist with patient care like bathing, etc. That's not enough care staff to handle that many patients with various levels of dementia. My mom was supposed to stay there for 30 days for respite care, and by the 5th day, I took her back home. She had not been assisted with her meals. She was left soiled. And she fell, unwitnessed, or so they say. She had a large hematoma on her right hip. I took her to the ER to be assessed, whereas they did nothing and had no clue what to do. I'm grateful I'm a nurse and have that knowledge and background. If you don't, I would urge you to think twice before putting your loved one here. Because it turned out to be a horror, even with me staying there with her during those five days from 9 am -11 pm, with only a break for dinner. The activities person looked right at me every day and never once approached me to invite my mom to participate. The girls on the floor were sweet, but it was jus impossible for them to provide adequate care.

January 20, 2023Thank you for your review. We are deeply disappointed in your experience and want to learn more. Please email us with a phone number we can call at info@springhills.com.
I toured Poet's Walk Round Rock and I really liked it, but it was a little too big for my husband to feel comfortable. He doesn't do well with large settings, plus the fact that they bring everyone out to the common area to participate in activities. Sometimes he doesn't want to be around people and I was afraid he wouldnt adapt well. Having dementia, you never know which version of him you'll get - the happy one or the one who doesn't want to be around anyone; I would've chose Poet's Walk otherwise.

January 20, 2023Dear Susan, Thank you so much for your review. We truly value your feedback!
The food is great. My loved one just got involved with activities. My loved one is also, starting to get more comfortable with the community and getting out of their shell. The staff is very caring, kind, and gentle. Irelaly like the staff, and they are very good with the patients. One reason I chose this place, is because I really appreciate the staff. The first week, there was an assigned family liason person, who helped with everything. In addition, they send a weekly activities report which shows what my loved one is doing each week.

January 20, 2023Dear Terry, Thank you so much for your positive review. We appreciate the time you took to tell us your story.
Her laundry was lost a lot and it took them a while to react to her needs. Sometimes the head nurse was not very nice. When we had issues she took offense to what we were saying. There were several every day staff members that were compassionate during our stay. She passed away from covid and I think the facility should have had stricter protocols during that time. Nobody has reached out since our loved ones passing and that shocked us - we never felt any compassion from them and that has been very disappointing.

This is an excellent place for your loved one. The community is only five years old, and the best value for your dollar. The staff communication with the family is excellent. They are willing to remedy concerns quickly and they have an open door policy when it comes to the family's questions.

The front end experience is wonderful. I was not rushed through the process, they made sure that I was in the right frame of mine for my loved one. The staff are friendly and proactive in caring for my loved one. The community is very clean. I feel that the community could use some additional assistance; however, I feel this is most anywhere currently. No community is perfect. Overall I would feel comfortable recommending someone place their loved ones here.

April 25, 2023Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the time you took to leave us a review and to recommend our community.
We recently moved my mother from here. They were continually short of staff. On several occasions there was no nurse on duty. About the time we got to know mothers care givers they quit. This was so frustrating for us and for mother. When we visited all the patients were just sitting in front of the television with no interaction. The moment I saw a patient dripping wet through her clothes I knew it was time to go.

April 25, 2023Dear Kay, We are saddened by your experience and have share this with our Quality Assurance team to make improvements.
They take very good care of the residents at this community. They do everything that they can to make the transition easy on the family. They also listen to anything that the family has to say good or bad. This community has also been very open to correcting any errors that may have risen for my loved one. They have activities at this community like word games, group activities, coloring and word searches and more for the residents to stay busy and active in the community.

April 25, 2023Dear Kelli, Thank you so much for leaving us a review. We value your feedback about your experience.
During our loved ones stay we had no issues at all, we always felt that everybody there embraces doing the best. No matter who the day to day staff were, the cleaning crew picking up the building or the kitchen staff serving the meals, they all were very attentive to not only the residents needs but their families. Every time we came to visit they always had something going on for the residents to participate in. They weren't just piled into a room together and watching TV, there was always someone there conducting some sort of activity which we thought was super. They even go our loved one to join their painting classes.

April 25, 2023Dear Dennis, Thank you so much for your detailed review. We appreciate the time you look to provide us feedback and share your experience.
We had a little bit of a rocky start with her medications, but since she has settled in things are going great. Poet's walk is strictly a memory care facility and we liked that they specialize in that type of care. It is a smaller facility with more personalized and intimate care. They have a lot of activities provided and so she is not in her room a whole lot. It is quite expensive but they do provide great quality of care and the staff really know what they are doing. I would definitely recommend to others looking for memory care.

April 25, 2023Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for the recommendation. We hope it helps others looking for memory care in the Austin, Round Rock and Cedar Park areas of TX.
We have been so pleased with our experience so far with, the staff have just been fantastic. Since it is only memory care the staff have been phenomenal with their residents. This is the best place for our loved one with her state or memory loss. There is a stimulating environment which is helping slow down the decline in memory loss. The staff are constantly engaged and interacting with one another
