My overall experience with A Place For Mom was exceptionally positive. [name removed] contacted me immediately and within 24 hours had a list of possible candidates to place my mother. My mother has very special needs and this was well considered in [name removed] selections. Harbor Chase is an exceptionally clean and well-maintained facility. First walking in and looking at the dining facility it looks more like a high-end motel or resort rather than an assisted living facility. I have to say the staff here is the most attentive I've had out of any of facilities. [name removed], the concierge at the front desk has gone well above and beyond to assist my mother and adapting to her new environment. She is almost become a family friend and in a short period of time. The upper staff has been replaced, but I believe that's in a positive way. Quality of care, has been very very good. My mother needs insulin on a slide so it's pretty much unscheduled. They have been very responsive to her needs and communicating what's going on to me. The dining area is very nice. And they do have a chef on site. The food is extremely good. The menu is more from upscale restaurant that is a care facility. I will say there is a problem with identifying people with special diet needs. There are a lot of activities at Harbor Chase, but they seem to be typical for an assisted living facility. Value of cost seems to be pretty much in the middle of the road. There are facilities that are much higher. There are facilities that are lower. Their levels of care pretty much fall in line with the industry. Basic level is very reasonable. They called me to tell me they're tending to a small cut on my mother's foot. They call me every time anything happens, which I love.... Read more

Harbor chase has recently been bought out entirely by gables of palm harbor I would say everything is a 3 As everything is o k but nothing is excellent or over the top. My husband has been a resident since June '23 and they have a high turnover rate both with staff employees and also with agency people.I don't know what their situation is.But they've got to get a handle on it.And I believe they're taking measures to do so and I have that information from an inside source.

Memory care staff [name removed] is very engaged and involved with patient/family care and communication. Business office and executive director are very approachable to family. I would recommend HarborChase of Palm Harbour to those looking.

My loved one is a fairly new resident at HarborChase of Palm Harbor and most everything has been very good for her so far. I am satisfied with everything thus far and she is getting much better care here than she was at her previous facility.

My loved one is currently a resident at HarborChase of Palm Harbor. There have been some nursing and management changes, so the communication with family has not been terrific. Mostly, I ask questions rather than being advised of what's going on. My loved one has this dysphasia, therefore he can only eat pureed foods. I find that housekeeping could have more attention to detail, for example the floors and changing sheets. Not all staff are employees, but contract. Maybe a lot of facilities are trying to work through these things, but it's a bit frustrating to somebody new to the Assisted Living system and having my loving loved one as a resident for the last three months. Overall the facility is good, as stated by friends in similar situations.

My parents had lived at HarborChase since 2021. My father has a suprapubic catheter that requires special licensing to care for him. I recently found out, unbeknownst to me, that this special license expired in 2021. In fact, when I asked the executive director to show me their license, she told me I could look for it on the wall of the facility. When I found it, I saw that it was marked as expired in April 2021. My parents no longer live there and I would not recommend it, in spite of the fact that the facility is lovely, clean, and most of the care staff is fairly good.

Would not recommend. Handled health emergencies very poorly. Exceedingly bad at communications to family. Took no ownership of responsibility. Would not pick again. We picked this community, because it was recommended by a friend whose dad was there previously. It was spotty! Care was lower than needed and expected which was the main reason we were there. It looks pretty though was overall disappointed.

We toured HarborChase of Palm Harbor and it was a great tour. Everything seemed great at this facility. However, it was too expensive for us. More expensive than most in the area that we toured.
They are are very good with the care services, and they are very attentive. Everyone is very nice. My loved one likes the breakfast. They have a schedule with a lot of activities, and they look great. They do well with the communication, and they try to get the residents more involved. My loved one feels they could be faster, when they push the button for assistance/help. I would recommend to other families.

Our loved one was here for respite care. They have a chef that will make all that you want. The first day my loved ones were here they fell and then we had a few other issues and ended up looking for another community that may fit better for our loved ones.
Not as nice as the others
I liked HarborChase of Palm Harbor. The facility was absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend it for younger people that need assisted living. My loved one was in need of memory care though, and I didn't feel it wasn't worth the money for his early stage.
Our family is having a much better experience then what we had at our loved ones previous community. He says the food is like eating at a restaurant and he has a cute little apartment that overlooks the water. The staff members go out of there way to help and assist the residents when needed, it might not also be in the most timely manner but they are doing their best to be attentive and accommodating. We would recommend highly.

I live our of state so this feedback is just what I have heard, but the experience our loved ones are having seems to be excellent. it is night and day compared to their previous community, they are up and about participating in activities. Overall they just seem to be enjoying this community.
I would for sure recommend this community. This is the fourth place our loved one has been in and it is for sure the best. They have different daily activities for the residents to participate in. They have morning coffee breaks, gaming periods, someone who comes in and plays piano, they go out on scenic rides and even go out to dinner.

It was a great facility, we just did not think the layout would fit our loved one. It is multiple floors so we were worried about the stairs/elevators.
We chose HarborChase because they had the nicest staff, the facility was the best, and they have around the clock nursing care. The room sizes are adequate for what she needs, she is in a 1 bedroom studio apartment. The shower does have a little lip which she has tripped on a few times. Overall it has been a good experience I would definitely recommend to others looking.
