My parents loved the place especially my dad who couldn’t say enough good things about the food and staff. Their room was amazing and had safety features in the bathroom . The hallway had grab bars that didn’t look like grab bars. There was a little shelf outside their door so they could make the entry way to their room unique to them.... Read more

At first, they were somewhat affordable at about [amount removed] a month and staff was very very attentive. Then they had massive staff turnover. This led to unclean facility, roach infestation, short staff and substandard leadership (both administrative and patient services). I wish I could change facilities but my loved ones Alzheimer's is too far to uproot him.

I was previously at [facility name removed] but suffered many falls and needed more help, so I moved to Cove at Marsh Landing. It's an assisted living facility and it is very good overall, is just that I have difficulty accepting that I need it.

We no longer have a resident there. So cannot comment on current status. My comments are based on a year ago, but based on the experience we had, we would recommend this community to others

My mom enjoyed her experience unfortunately she fell and broke her hip. Maybe a little more supervision. Good activities and staff. Very professional and responded to inquiries. For us close for family to visit.

My mom has friends , activities, PT, cocktail hour, a good social life and the nursing/care that she needs (if not available there, they will take her where needed.) As anywhere, there are some hiccups but overall we are very happy with her there.

I'd say it was not good, they talk a good game but do not follow through on any promises and we chose it because it's a nice property and we believed their story.

I would recommend The Cove at Marsh Landing to anyone who is looking for affordable, high quality care. The overall impression of the facility is a 5 star hotel. The staff is professional. They are also kind and caring towards the residents. There are daily activities for everyone to enjoy. Transportation is available as well. My mom was well cared for and enjoyed the time that she was there.

The Cove at Marsh Landing is going through some high turnover rate with their staff team, however the staff that are working there are great. They are so personable and they know exactly who I am and who my loved one is. The medication management and consistency could be a little bit better when it comes to filling the prescriptions. When you break it down, it really overall is a great place and our loved one is having a great time there. There are so many activities that half the time when I call he is not available because he is off doing something. They have social happy hours, they play bingo and he enjoys playing pool. They also have movie nights as well a trivia throughout the week. There is a bus that the residents can use for transportation back and forth from the local shopping center - however its been broken down for about a month. For the amount of money the residents are paying, it would be nice if they could use that transportation system.

The communication between staff is less than adequate, and staffing shortages make things worse. Common areas were clean, but weekly cleaning of her unit isn't always consistent. People all seem pleasant and helpful, and my loved one hasn't mentioned anything negative EXCEPT the understaffed issues. The food is less than appetizing and is often overcooked. Many people leave their meals, as the meat is too dried out and tough for them to chew. Because there hasn't been adequate staffing since before my loved one moved in, the care staff has to work as wait staff, and I believe she just mentioned the activities person is now cooking as they lost kitchen staff. Also the meal times are too restrictive. Breakfast is early, and dinner is early so that's not a long time between dinner and lunch. Luckily she can microwave stuff, if she has groceries. Their transportation bus has been out of commission now for 3-4 weeks and counting. No transport for doctors or banking or shopping, nor any activity outings. I had high hopes for the place given our tour, compared to other places we toured. I believe she said they are upping the care fee considerably, when the care she needs is minimal. If they work out the many issues they have with managing the place, it could be much better.

I toured this facility and it was nice! Seems like a good place.
They are understaffed and so sometimes in our opinion things seem a little frantic but we do know everyone is suffering with staffing. We do really like just how friendly everyone is. We also like how they organize the meals in an excellent way - if someone is not feeling their best they come bring the meals to their rooms and take care of them. They do have a lot of different activities available which is great.

The community is very good. I do feel the monthly rate is expensive for what we are paying for. The cleanliness of my loved one's room leaves a lot to be desired. The staff are very nice to work with though. It would be nice to make sure that the cleaning of the room and laundry of my loved one's items could be done more on a regular basis. The family is having to having to bring this to the community staff's attention on occasion. It would be nice to have the staff just clean the room, and not ask the resident permission to come in to clean the room. They were able to assist with getting my loved one furniture for their room and this was very much appreciated. My loved one feels that items are being stolen from them and we are working on a solution to see if this is true.

My father was on the memory care unit and we were just not impressed. I don't think my his room was ever cleaned. I wasn't there everyday, but did visit often and it was never clean when I went. He never looked well groomed/shaved or taken care of as far as hygiene. After he passed and we went to get his belongings, his room looked untouched, other than the bed being stripped. The TV was still on, it smelled, there were soiled diapers still in the room (which we weren't aware they were even using), and it was just awful. They also assured us that his rate would be pro rated since we'd paid the full month and that we would be refunded the difference. After several calls and emails, I finally got a response that the check was in the mail, but I still haven't received it. We asked that they not give him chicken because he didn't like it, but witnessed them serve him chicken several times. My son works in the food industry and hated the food. He visited often and would comment every time on the poor quality. They seemed to be understaffed and the quality of the staff they did have was not great. The assisted living side seemed to be much better from what I witnessed. I actually have a friend with a loved one on that side and they are happy with it. I would recommend possibly the assisted living side, but not memory care.

I'm very happy and we've been happy. Knowing that nothing will ever be perfect, I'm still very pleased with The Cove at Marsh Landing and I always have been. Once in a while you might have a little hiccup, but other than it's great and I'm happy with where they're at.

It's a very nice facility. The residents seem to be happy. You do have to stay on top of the staff to make sure things get done. The meals and dining is nice, my loved one enjoys the variety of choices offered. The activities are good. My loved one enjoys their movie night, happy hour at 330pm, outings to do some shopping, as well as arts and crafts. The only issue seems to be medication management.

It is a nice place, and the people are good. There are sometimes qualms over staffing during the pandemic. There is sometimes a lack of follow through by the staff. They have restaurant dining. If a resident doesn't like what is being served, you can pick from a stand alone menu. The staff are friendly in the dining room. The dining is very clean. The outdoor area is wonderful. They allow dogs on premises. The community ensures that caretakers and families see their loved one, and accommodate this request. The housekeeping in the rooms could be improved, along with billing.
