I picked this place because it had a bed which can convert to medicaid and overall place and pts looked clean and cared for on our visit. No time to see multiple locations with hospital breathing down our backs either.. I think they give good care. Mother seems clean and attended to. They recognized problems she is having and have tried to address them.

I would recommend this facility.....they love my mother, I've heard from people that don’t work there anymore about how much they enjoyed taking care of her. Mom says that the meals are awesome, that there is almost TOO MUCH to eat. Her room and every where else we visit her while there are spotlessly clean. Communication is always good as well.... We have had no trouble getting a hold of my mother and speaking to her on the phone or her calling us as well. Communication is always good as well. I took a tour of The Courts of Waterford, and to be honest, I could not stand it. to me, it felt like a hospital where everyone was old an [Removed]. The community didn't look clean, the residents didn't seem clean, and the faculty generally just seemed outdated.

It is still a work in progress for my mother with her move to this community, but I do feel she is in a safe community. Her previous was excellent community was excellent, so we had pretty high standards. She is doing okay for the most part. The staff is kind, and helping her to adjust too the move. The community is well maintained. They do a good job with the cleanliness of the community. There are nice activities offered, and good meals are provided. Overall everything is moving a positive direction for us at this community.

Mom is in the process of moving in permanently to a studio apartment. Soon we will be bringing her furniture etc. She is excited and has liked the staff and Dr [Removed] and food. I love that I can visit her on one of many screened in porches with views and that I can order and eat meals with her(she also loves the idea). The place is decorated beautifully and clean. She is no longer able to walk but just requested a scooter!(I've tried talking her into that years ago!) There are water features and an outdoor path that I know our visits will be excellent. Its all new but going amazingly well and she looks good( great peace to the family) thanks so much for your guidance and genuine concern??

The Courts of Waterboard was not what we were looking for. It was not going to be a good fit for my loved one, but it could be a good fit for someone else.

We are very happy with Alden Courts of Waterford and our sister's care there. We are especially impressed with the kindness that is always shown to her, even tho, having Dementia, she at times acts out. Of the facilities we toured, Alden is definitely the most attractive and well planned. The hallways are nice and wide and the wings are just the right length, making it feasible for the staff to be aware of what is going on with the patients. Each wing has it's own dining room that is a manageable size, and sitting areas that make for a homey setting. Even with loss of memory, our sister feels familiar and comfortable at Alden. Our thanks to all the staff at Alden!

If you need care for a family member with dementia, Alden Courts of Waterford is one of the better choices in the Fox Valley. The atmosphere is more like that of a motel than of a hospital. The whole facility is clean and inviting. The current administrator is kind, very capable, and extremely responsive; she always wears a cheery, sincere smile and knows all the residents and family members by name. Personnel, from the reception desk to the nursing staff, are generally caring and many are long time employees at this facility, making for more stability than other places we encountered. Staff to resident ratio is much stronger than at similar nearby facilities. Making the most of the usual, awful institutional food, the dietary personnel are nevertheless extremely attentive to individual differences in diet needs and go out of their way to accommodate residents' dietary desires. Alden is also more affordable than many other choices in the Valley. It's a very good choice in a trying and difficult situation.

Mom & Dad would visit the geese in summer & comment how they liked the area. Dad passed Mom needed help. I had packs of info, visits done, this was the choice. Rooms, overall facility clean with a peaceful comfort. Dining better than some restaurants. Activities daily, music at night, shuttle to shopping, & more. I cannot say enough about care. CNA/nursing I have not had a complaint, all staff & administration helpful even to me. The communication is excellent. Costs avg. while trying to avoid increases. I have relation, different place, no compare.

The staff are all extremely helpful and courteous. They do not overlook any detail, no matter how insignificant. I appreciate the professional manner of the Executive Director, Ms. Lauren Pac. She is outgoing and available to answer any questions or apprehensions that I may have. The staff's biggest concern is for my mother's well-being and for that I am very grateful.

Response from The Courts of Waterford
January 25, 2015I'm so glad you are happy. We love taking care of your mom!
My husband has been in 3 assisted living centers, and the Courts of Waterford is by far the best. The facility is always clean and they do a lot of activities for the residents. The staff is courteous and professional. They also keep the atmosphere family friendly, feeling like home. I trust them and know they do their best for my husband at all times. I see the way they interact with others when their loved ones are not around. I can safely say, all of the residents are safe and well taken care of every day.

Response from The Courts of Waterford
January 21, 2015It is a pleasure to care for him Michele!
That was clean - actually a lot cleaner than where my husband is now but they didn't take care of him. They just left him in his room. I visited every day and every week I would be the one to shower him and change him. One week I did that on Sunday and then I told myself I wasn't going to do it for the next week. I went on Monday and he had the same clothes on. On Tuesday he had the same clothes on. On Wednesday he had the same clothes on and on Thursday I finally said something. These are the same clothes that I put him in on Sunday! Nobody would change him. I was just hoping they would step up to the plate and they never did.

Response from The Courts of Waterford
April 16, 2015Thank you for your feedback. I cannot speak to this review as I was not in management at that time. However, I can tell you that management and staff are very dedicated to the care of the residents. Everyone receives regular education/training and is aware that proper care of the residents is the most important aspect of his/her job. I'm sorry you had a less than amazing experience here and hope you would consider us in the future for you or your loved one’s needs.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
