So far a great experience

When my father got to Capstone’s memory care unit, he had just come from a rehab facility for a compression fracture of a vertebra in his lower back and had also recently suffered a mild heart attack. He hadn’t been eating and was wasting away. From the moment he arrived, he began to eat 3 excellent meals a day and with the help of Brenda Johnson and the care staff, he began to regain his strength and take part in the activities. We love that the schedule is filled with group activities so that my father is not sitting in his room by himself all day like he had been in his previous assisted living location. [name removed] treats all of the residents with respect and consideration. We have personally witnessed her requiring the staff to transfer the residents from wheelchairs into actual dining chairs to have their meals, making them feel less like patients and more like regular adults sitting down to a meal. Highly recommend this memory care facility!... Read more

Great Staff

It is priced high and it needed better cleaning of the rooms. They charged her extra for bringing meals to room. I loved staff they were great with my mom.

The place is very well kept. The staff and residents are very friendly. Some other places were a little run down. I liked that this was fairly new and well kept. The apartment is very nice.

I toured this community and it was very nice. The facility looked very good. It was clean. Staff was friendly. It was our second choice, but they didn't have availability when we needed it.

1 nurse at night for the entire building. You can die in minutes. If there are 2 emergencies. God forbid.

Horrific. Not enough nurses at night. Frightening. Always different people. Either they're horrible to there workers. Or. Don't pay them enough. It's nice to see the same nurses and caregivers. You get accustomed to them. Then they are gone. Nice and caring people.

great place but

we loved this place for our mom the business office director is wonderful [name removed] will go above and beyond to help you out, but [name removed] the head person there is all about money. Its unfortunately that a person who has no compassion or understanding is head of capstone. As far as I'm concerned [name removed] should be in that position.

tour review

Our family had an in person tour and we thought it was a beautiful facility, the rooms on the memory care side were beautiful, big and spacious. However it is a newer facility so it did not really have that comfortable homey feel to it and the memory care side did feel a little more sterile. However even though it was not going to work for our loved one it could be perfectly fine for someone else.

friendly staff and cleanliness is a plus

The friendliness of the staff even just during the initial tour really stood out to us. They were very thorough with answering all of our questions, they did not give us the run around or anything like that. There was nothing really left to the imagination. The price was definitely a great deal, every other community in the area was significantly higher then the price here so it is very reasonable.

The staff are all very efficient and they get right back to you if you have any questions or concerns. My friend is not very active, but they do have things like entertainment and music that come in. It has been a good experience and I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

We chose The Capstone at Royal Palm Beach because of the cleanliness, the friendly staff, and they were eager to assist in any way that they could. My loved one was not feeling well and we could not go sign the papers so they came to where she was and sat with us and answered all of our questions. The residents are superb, they are so sweet and I enjoyed speaking with them. I would give the food above a 5 if I could, it was great. I would recommend to others looking and already have.

Amazing Life for Elderly People for Senior Living

I would recommend you look at the community. We have had a good experience with my loved one here. This is a newer community that is bright, beautiful, and friendly. They could improve on activities for the residents. The food cold be improved; however, the community is working with the residents on this.

A Great Option for Long Term Care In Royal Palm Beach

The senior staff turned over from when it opened to now. Both the director and the director of nursing have both left or been replaced. Both the new and old staff, but especially the new staff, seem quite responsive. They were very willing to provide a place for our loved one, who was having extreme combativeness issues. And they were very committed to finding a way to make this work. Their solution was a 24-hour private aide, but they've been working with us to significantly reduce the amount of time the aide is there to about 8 hours. They do not believe in Baker Acting (calling 911 and having the resident taken to a psychiatric facility). Having the 24-hour aide has been their solution, and also just being tolerant and understanding that he's older and frail, and recognizing the need to work with his medication and with the aides to help him through this. They've been just as kind and respectful to me as they've been to him throughout the process. The food here is excellent. It's not boring. It's like going to a decently good restaurant. It's not just slab of meat, some mashed potatoes, and an overcooked vegetable. They have chicken kabobs, and they give him soup every day which he likes, and it's just good. I would definitely recommend this community to others.

Above and Beyond

The long awaited “move-in” has finally happened! I cannot express enough the highest level of attention, care/compassion and welcoming our entire family received. Every possible outside barrier that we faced, [names removed] worked through to make a safe, smooth and comfortable transition for our family member moving into the Memory Care unit. Our welcoming greeting upon arrival brought tears of joy to a happy ending of the long move in journey. The entire staff worked hard to ensure a connection and bond would be created to promote a successful journey for their new resident. The food looks and tastes absolutely amazing and every staff member has a warm smile in their greeting. My family lives a distance from Capstone so it is important to us that staff is accommodating with keeping us informed and makes communication available for us to talk and “see” when we can’t visit. Our plan is set and we were never made to feel like we were being a pain or it was too much to ask.
