The Bristal at Sayville

Place looks beautiful, care is horrible! Staff needs to reaccess if they should be working with the elderly as they are not treated nicely. Big mistake putting my loved one here. Aides are not very nice, paid for them to hand medication didnt even make sure pills actually went into her mouth. Found several pills on the bed, rushed out the door. Not Nice! aides shouldnt be working with the elderly!!!!! big mistake placing my loved on here!!!!

After selling the home she lived in for over 60 years, my mom moved into a beautiful apartment While there she became unhappy and lonely, and after giving up her license and car, felt isolated. We heard about a new assisted living facility opening in Sayville and were hopeful that this was the answer. It took some convincing, but she agreed to the move. She was one of the first residents! She made friends and started to socialize and to really enjoy her life. Its been over 6 years and I feel The Bristal has extended her life. She'll be 95 in two weeks. Thank you to the Bristal staff!

100% Recommend the Bristal at Sayville -Reflections section. First we had a tour with [name removed], Director Of Community Relations, who answered our multiple questions. The place is clean, busy, and friendly. Another visit & follow-up questions were answered and they helped us with the paperwork. We brought my aunt from out-of-state. Everyone was helpful. [name removed], Director of Reflections who is in charge of the Reflections unit and their staff are available, responsive, and friendly. My aunt is very happy there and likes the food.

In these crazy times and the unknown the staff at bristal sayville have gone out of their way to make sure everyone is safe and healthy! Mom and I do waving from her second floor window...when lockdown started she lost her tv remote which was replaced quickly then couldn’t find phone trying to get a hold of her until I called front desk they swiftly brought up a phone and made sure she called me! Oh then the tv died...lockdown no tv I brought one over and was installed Hopefully one day soon we can hug mom but right now she is safe and healthy couldn’ Ask for anything more! After interacting with[name removed] at the Bristal since June of 2019, my 81 year old mom became a resident at the Bristal in Sayville in mid December of this year. I did an extensive search of assisted living facilities over the last 6 months, and I found that [name removed] was extremely personable and easy to interact with. After taking a tour of the facility, I knew that my mom would do well in terms socialization, medication management, hydration, nutrition, along with the help necessary with various activities of daily living. The staff at the Bristal has been extremely friendly and and they can relate to what my family and I are going through. I highly recommend that the Bristal at Sayville be considered as an assisted living facility.

My Dad is in the reflections unit and has been very happy there for almost 2 years. The staff have all been very caring and supportive. It has been a relief for me and the family knowing that he is in the best of care. We just attended the thanksgiving family day and had a great time. Thank you to [name removed] and staff for putting together great music ,food ,fun and a fun day. My Dad really enjoyed the music and was responsive to all of it. [Names removed]

The Bristol at sayville is the right placement for my mom. She has adjusted and takes advantage of the many activities and trips that they offer. Her medical needs are taken care of by the in house doctor and nursing staff. She raves about the staff all the time. I am happy we chose the Bristol for her.

Our family is grateful for The Bristal at Sayville for their care and commitment to patients. The staff is diligent in providing the interaction, activities and physical care essential to his specific needs. The environment is beautiful and clean. He’s a picky eater but with so many delicious options he always enjoys his meals. Thank you for giving us the peace of mind we would have never had if it weren’t for this facility.

Moved 89 yr old mother into the Bristal - 3 years ago. It completely brought her back in the game. My mom made friends, joined social activities such as bingo and a book club. She enjoys the staff and the residents. My mom gained 20 pounds and continues to thrive. My mom is in the best care. She has no worries. My mom became more engaged in life due to the Bristal. The staff is simply amazing and all of them care for the residents. They are friendly each and every day. From the house keepers to the receptionist to the senior manager -all of them care. I never thought she'd live this long with out her husband who she misses daily - but the Bristal has given her a new lease on life.

We had both my father and mother at Bristol in Sayville and both had positive experience with the staff. My mother ended up in the Reflections unit and had great treatment and my father would come over and stay with her all day. End of life came for her and the hospice set up was very helpful for the family. My father has continued to live at Bristol and is happy with his studio apartment, the care they give him keeps him busy. Overall, we could not find a better place for our aging parents.

My 92 yo mom arrived at the Bristal a few months ago after having lived in the city for the last 50 years. Everyone there made the transition as comfortable as possible for her. The facilities, food, services activities and staff are all wonderful. I have peace of mind that she is in the best of hands.

Our Mom passed away last March and Dads dementia progressed. After trying to keep him home, I looked around places for memory care. I was so impressed, it was large ,he could walk around, a cinema. I felt so good about the Bristal . When we brought him there we did not know what he would do. He looked at us and said why didn’t we bring him sooner. The staff was so welcoming and they are still the most caring people to him and the other residents and to us when we are there. He feels so safe, he jokes with everyone and he Does activities. We could not be happier and satisfied with our decision.

It took almost a year to get mom to give it a try left deposit - got deposit back - she said they would never live at the Bristal My mom is a very personable person and I knew Bristal would be perfect for her After my dad past last year asked my mom to give Bristal a try...waited a while for an available room - with the staff making the impossible happen in a record time (at Christmas time with losing her 24/7 help and me going on vacation they got her in Christmas Eve- first time in a long time went on vacation without to worry!!) My brother and I got her settled in her room and she went for lunch - we met her after and her firsts words where I love it here!! And it has been that way every day - we can’t Reach her by phone until after 7 pm she is never in her room! I can’t say enough about Bristal the staff, food with plenty of choices, everyone who works there is always smiling and helpful in any way! They have truly made our lives easier all meds are ordered and delivered to mom’s room - which has taken a weight off my shoulders! This was the best choice for our mom it had made her more alive...oh and don’t get in her way at 4 for bingo!

My mom went to assisted living care kicking and screaming. The staff was great with getting her involved with activities and making her feel welcome. It's been three months and she is very happy living there. She loves the food, keeps telling me how nice the people are there and enjoys the activities.

Our family is pleased with the care and accommodations my dad receives at Bristal-Sayville. It's a difficult decision and he was initially adamant about not leaving his house. Once he experienced the attention and beauty of Bristal it all changed. He's not only happier but his health is improving too. There are not enough words to say how incredible The Bristal at Sayville is. The decor is beautiful, the activities varied and plentiful, but most importantly each and every staff member treats my mom like family. As my mom always says “they are really truly nice, not just pretending.” From the moment you walk in to be greeted with a beautiful smile from [Removed] (the works’s finest receptionist) to the nurses, aides, housekeepers, activities and dining staff — each person is genuinely caring thoughtful patient and loving. The Bristal has added so much to our mom’s life and to the comfort of our whole family. I travel often and am anxious about my mom — but knowing she is at The Bristal where her every need is attended to gives me the ultimate gift of comfort. The Bristal is a palace that treats its “family” as royalty.

I was lucky enough to know someone working at The Bristal in Sayville and was able to move my mom into the last room (at the time) available in their memory care unit quickly. I had no choice but to keep my mom safe and I knew the locked unit was what she needed. I did not feel they had to "sell" it to me. I was confident she was well taken care of; had the ability to call or visit unannounced and satisfied with the care she was given. The staff was wonderful and the facility well cared for. I know my mom was well taken care of.

My wife is very happy being apart of the assisted living community. They are taking care of her and they got her involved in some different types of therapy. The food is excellent. I eat with her twice a week and we enjoy the meals very much. We were looking for a one bedroom but we got a deluxe studio instead. There was not an available one bedroom at the time.
