My mom is at the Bristal Lake Grove and is doing well in their memory care area. The facility is convenient and they have many great activities going on for the residents to participate in. The food is not as good as her previous facility, though.
The Bristal was good before covid but since then has gone downhill. Management is poor and not professional or respectful. They did not help me out at all when trying to move my loved one out and were very difficult to work with, they did not seem to care at all. Over on the memory care side there were absolutely no activities for the residents, they were all always just sitting there. I would not recommend this community to anyone.
My mom has been there over 2 years after moving after dad passed andher own unexpected health issues . . She has thrived in her new home , made new friends , has wonderful Caring , kind people assisting her each day and watching our for her…. Our angels . Recreation keeps her laughing and engaged . We have experiencedopen and good communication with so many on the team on many levels and are always welcomed so kindly .

When my MIL was unable to care for herself we had the difficult decision of finding an assisted living home. With stairs not being an option we were unable to have her come live with any of the family members. We toured 2 other assisted living facilities, and then The Bristol at Lake Grove and she instantly loved it. She said it reminded her of a 5 start hotel. As she settled in she enjoyed her meal companions in the dining hall , the movies and playing Bingo. She had her hair done in the salon and knew an aid was just a button away. Sadly just 2 1/2 months after she arrived COVID hit. Though we were unable to visit for several months we spoke often and she always told me how wonderful the staff was and how eager to make her life more comfortable. Sadly mom passed away this past December. The Bristol did everything they could to allow family visits and showed her the upmost compassion. I will always be grateful for the care they gave not only my MIL, but our family.

The Bristal at Lake Road is really amazing. My father recently moved in from another facility and the difference is striking with the Bristal being far superior. Everyone at the facility that I’ve interacted with has been great . moving in the middle of Covid was challenging but the high level of communication and transparency of the staff to the family has been remarkable. My dad is very happy here and shares how pleased he is with his interaction with those caring for him. Choosing an assisted living facility is difficult I am grateful we found the Bristal at Lake Grove. I highly, highly recommend.

Although we have only had several months of experience with The Bristal at Lake Grove, we have found both the office staff and medical staff very helpful and caring. More importantly, the prompt response to any inquiries and issues is very much appreciated. The facility is beautiful and very well maintained.

Our aunt has been a resident of The Bristal at Lake Grove for 9 months now and we are very pleased with her care. More important, she is very happy there. The staff shows genuine concern for its residents. Everyone is very responsive to her needs and work with us also to see that her physical and mental well-being are maintained. Especially during this difficult time, with COVID-19 being rampant in many facilities, we feel secure that she is safe.

Everyone in the Bristal goes above and beyond to make all the residents and their families part of their family. Their perseverance and determination to keep all residents safe and healthy really shined through over these last 2months! They really need to be acknowledged for all their valiant and heartwarming measures to help both the residents and their families during this very difficult and trying time. Maybe one day we will be able to give them all the hugs and attention they deserve??

My MIL has been at the Bristol on the Reflections Unit for about 9 months. In that time we have come to know and love the staff. Every member of our Bristol Family is special. They have made my mother in law feel safe and loved. She's engaged and she loves the activites that are going on all day. The holiday gatherings hosted for families go above and beyond. The atmosphere from the moment you walk though the door is simply welcoming. We are always greeted with a smile and it's almost like coming home. Knowing she is happy there is what it's all about!

The Bristal at Lake Grove is an absolutely wonderful place!! In April 2019 our family had a devastating loss. Our mother passed away and our Dad, after 57 years of marriage, was living on his own. Upon deciding he did not want to live alone, we began researching assisted living facilities. From the moment we walked into the elegant lobby of The Bristal at Lake Grove, for our tour, we were greeted warmly and immediately felt welcome. [Name removed] was so comforting and knowledgeable, we felt like we were meeting with an old friend. In Sept. 2019 our Dad moved into The Bristal at Lake Grove with great ease. The reception he received and continues to receive from both the residents and the staff, has been a true blessing! He has made many new friends. The compassion the staff members demonstrate and the way they interact with the residents is heartwarming. There are many activities available to the residents throughout the day and evening. Our Dad tries to participate in as many as he can; a few of his favorites are balloon volleyball, Wii bowling and Bingo. Our family enjoys the activities with the residents and staff as well. The pleasurable environment we have found at The Bristal has become a new home to our Dad and our family, and has put a smile back on his face. Thank you to everyone at The Bristal at Lake Grove!

The bristal at lake grove is wonderful. My mom could no longer live alone in a large house after mydad passed this year and her soon after had health issues. We already had a positive experience when my dad was there almost 2 yrs ago . Since august when she moved into.a beautiful studio she has thrived. She has new friends , has had pt, sees a doctor, plays bingo, volley ball , movies and enjoys the festive parties. More important is the wonderful care , assistance she receives from so many, the kindness , affection and attention . We are very thankful to these wonderful people. Highly recommend!

I have tears in my eyes (of joy and gratitude) while reading my mom’s letter to me. She has been in The Bristal at Lake Grove for about five months and she loves it. She said that she feels better than she ever has felt before in her life. She loves all of the activities, going out to eat, and recently going to Jakes (she had SO MUCH FUN). She never would have be able to do this when she lived alone- she writes that she does not feel alone anymore. She lived 55 years in her home and I never would have thought that she would have adjusted so well so soon -she raised her family in her home. But, we lived 45 mins away and if she had to go to the ER or doctor she would wait to tell us. Now, if she needs medical care she goes right down to wellness. She enjoys the delicious meals, made to order. She goes to balloon volley ball and Zumba. She just called me and said she saw the movie “Unstoppable,” and she loved it. She goes to the movies at least 2 X week. When she was living by herself, rarely ever. She has made new friends and is very sociable. I am indebted to the kind and helpful Staff, to [name removed] no who kindly took our hands and showed us the home, answering any questions we had and got the ball rolling in motion. I could never thank The Bristal at Lake Grove enough for bringing my mom back to me. This is a success story. Her quality of life and happiness are so much greater. Please consider The Bristal at Lake Grove. You will fall in love with it the way me and my mom have. You will never look back, only forward.

My mother has transitioned much better than I thought due to the wonderful people that have given her the extra care and help she needs at this stage of her life. Her daily Bingo game is the highlight of her day and she is finally making friends. Proof of that was the other day on her birthday i walked into her room and it was filled with cards and flowers from other residents. She has gained some much needed weight and her only complaint is she has to wait sometimes for her escort due to the fact that she is in a wheelchair 50% of the time. She also loves going to the casino-wish it was more than once a month!!

My name is [name removed]. I am resident at The Bristals at Lake Grove, NY. I just celebrated my third month here ([date removed]). It was an adjustment after selling my home, where I lived for 53 years. I have a lovely room and enjoy all of the activities: Bingo, exercise, movies, etc. They always celebrate holidays with music and refreshments. I have made friends here. The whole staff is very accommodating . It is like living at a five star hotel.

Beautiful amazing building, grounds and rooms. 1 bedroom has living room, bedroom and kitchenette. nice activities. I came in at tail end of a great reggae band playing. Individuals were greeting my tour guide(not the other way around as if for show). One individual thanked her for reggae band, stating it reminded him of the times he visited Haiti with his wife. Expensive, 2000 more a month than other places without elevated care, but I guess you get what you pay for. Mom will visit, but will probably be out of her price range.

Our family was exploring options for my parents to move into an assisted living facility, and after visiting more than a half dozen of them we whittled it down to a very short list, including this Bristal. Ultimately, my parents chose a different one for strictly geographic reasons (in a different state)...however I wanted to post this review as we were so impressed with the Bristal at Lake Grove. First, compliments to [Name removed] on their staff for handling our inquiries and visits (at least four of them) so professionally and thoroughly. [Name removed] is very knowledgeable and compassionate, and has a solid understanding of all of the aspects of assisted living and the many questions and issues involved. The facility itself is really impressive. The layout, accommodations, services and staff are all first class. They have thought of every detail when it comes to making it safe and enjoyable for seniors to live there. I highly recommend that you seriously consider this facility...and if you can, have [Name removed] show you around.

The Bristal Lake Grove has been the right choice for my relatives. My loved ones acclimated beautifully to the full lifestyle provided to them at the Bristal. From the ease of registering to become a resident, through all the move -in and getting to know you aspects, medical and personal care--it was evident that it was the right choice for all of us...family doesn't worry and feels right at home during all visits...all the staff members are professional and truly know and care for their residents personally...they even become like " extended family" to the family! I have seen a positive change in my loved one's health and attitude...always cheerful, well nourished and cared for yet still providing that sense of independence. The facilities are first class...common areas are clean and beautifully decorated. Entertainment is varied to provide many different things to participate in...family is always welcome too! While some may think assisted living is costly, when you realized how much is offered, the lifestyle that is provided is worth so much more...being in one's home alone or with help would be hard to replicate all the benefits provided by the Bristal. I am so grateful that we decide on the Bristal...thank you to all the Lake Grove staff for truly caring!

After many months at home with help of aides my mother could no longer care for my dad as his needs required more . After much research, visits , questions and emotion we determined after seeing the reflections area and meetings with staff we felt good bringing him over . We were given wonderful support during this move and transition and communication with us was often and solid. [Name removed] helped us from out first meeting thru out and welcomed us like family . [Name removed] director of reflections was sharp , a great eye and caring ...wonderful. 2 aides stood out the most to us and we are so grateful to all but them especially for the attention nurturing , quality of care given to my dad jack.....[Name removed] A ND [Name removed] My dad lite up each time he saw them. Place was very clean, bright and cheery. During an emotional and difficult decision in life we know he had good care here . As his medical needs required the next step we had to move , but had we been able to stay here we would have much longer. THANK YOU All FOR THE Care provided .
