I would recommend Sunrise of Huntington to others. The staff is great. Friendly and engaging. Lots of activities. I get a call every week updating me on her progress. The menu is good. but she doesn't take full advantage of it. The setting is nice. Beautiful Hampton style home with a back patio. We left Sunrise [date removed]. It was disappointing and very expensive. We moved my wife to [community name removed]. MUCH better care and 1/2 the price is Sunrise. My biggest problem with Sunrise when we first spoke and visited them was that their sales people emphasized that we would not need a private aid if we switched to them, then they reneged on that. They said that their level of care would make a private aid unnecessary but that was not true. Terrible deception.

My experience is that communication can be inconsistent and my parents complain a lot about the food. That said, I do think the staff are largely very caring. I'm hopefully the new director will be a big improvement over the last, who was awful at customer service.

I wouldn't recommend Sunrise to anyone looking for assisted living. Food was not good, no activities to speak of. People sat around doing nothing. We are in [name removed] assisted living now and the difference is night to day and it's less expensive. Lots of activities, so much to do. The worst part of Sunrise was that someone went into my room and took all of my earrings! I called after I left to report it and no one returned my call

While we look at these places for our mom one of the first things that strikes me is the way a place smells; no smell is good smell. Plus the common areas were tidy. We've walked into places that look like they haven't been cleaned in years, and this location is well kept. Think we will take a second look to try the food next.

While I do recognize that my father-in-law had some difficult care needs, I don't feel that Sunrise was very forthcoming about their ability/inability to care for him. I feel they over promised, and under delivered. We removed him after he fell seriously ill and had several falls.

my wife battles with dementia and we found keeping her occupied in the home to be challenging. a friend recommended sunrise of huntington because of their unique layout so we went to check it out. visited a few times before deciding to move her and she seemed to light up more each time. been here now since august and quality of life is better for us both. extremely grateful to the staff, especially [names removed].

My mother moved to Sunrise of Huntington January 2023. Since that time I have seen a full turnaround in her mood and way of life. The staff encourages her to participate and always go out of their way to make sure she is in good spirits. Highly recommend.

The facility is new and common areas are lovely. But I was not happy with the level of service my mother received at Sunrise of Huntington. While she was a resident there, one of her hearing aids was lost and never recovered. We had to pay $[removed]for a one-time replacement (with insurance) and lived in constant fear of losing another. Nearly all of my mother's clothing went missing or was apparently damaged in the laundering process. Some items were shrunk or discolored because they were washed in bulk instead of by color. I would often visit my mother and find her dressed in someone else's clothing. Even her sneakers were mismatched. She would be wearing one sneaker that was too small and another too large. We never found her matching pair. My mother's eyeglasses also went missing and were never recovered. All of her bathroom items were often strewn about and never placed back on her shelf or kept in order. Her belongings were often mixed with those belonging to her roommate. My mother felt she was handled roughly during showering. She felt the aides were rushing and pushing her if she was not moving quickly enough. I did not witness this, I am simply conveying my mother's comments. I was told by management that her laundry would be done separately and that I would not need to worry about misplaced items. Despite all of her belongings being labeled, everything was misplaced at one time or another. Even her bedding and towels went missing. I was also mislead about price increases. Within the first year of my mother's residence, there was an unexpected rate increase that would have gone into effect well above what I was told to expect when we signed on. The director, sales staff and concierge were all very nice, and I am sure they tried their best. Many of the aides often appeared unhappy or uninterested in what they were doing or attending to residents. I repeatedly voiced my concerns and was assured that steps were being taken to correct issues. But in the end, the conditions proved unbearable for me, and I moved my mother to a new facility in Florida where she is closer to me and now has her own private room with all amenities for half the cost. While there may still be issues with missing items, the staff appears happier in their roles and much more attentive to my mother.

While our loved one was a resident here the upper management all left and you could see how unhappy the employees were. The place was rudderless, the aids were slower then slow with response times and when they did respond they would express their dislikes for the other aids. It was a terrible experience.

They keep my loved one busy with activities. There is a lot of exercising and outside activities like gardening. This is definitely a great place with very friendly people. The community is clean and attentive to the residents.

It was an immaculate and beautiful facility. They were extremely warm and personable when my loved one came to move in. Everyone on staff stood in the hallway and clapped for her, which was so nice. They were equally warm and professional with my sister and me. They allowed us in to decorate the room. When she passed away shortly after moving in, they handled everything efficiently and professionally. We felt like our loved one was never alone there. I have nothing but praise for them. Based on the experience we had In that short amount of time that she was there, I believe it would have continued to be a very positive experience had she had a longer stay. They may have only known our family for a short amount of time, but we got more than one call of condolence after she passed, and the staff spoke so wonderfully of our mom. The staff were just such super people.
I have already referred people here, and they have already come to the community. The feeling of security and happiness of my loved one. are things that stick out about this community. My loved one loves the people taking care of them. There is daily communication from the staff. If there is any change about my loved one, I get a phone call. There is a daily email from Nicholas. There is also a summary at the end of the week via email, this includes the health of the staff and residents.

Upon introductions, the admissions director, certified recreational therapist, and executive director were very comforting, supportive, and kind in my aunt's transition to their new sister community. They have continued their same emotional support to my family especially surrounding the difficulties of moving a loved one with memory issues.
