Thanks to your representative [name removed]. She was awesome in the process of helping my sister in going to a memory care facility. I would recommend the Christian Fellowship House community to anyone who cares about their loved ones as it offers compassion, care, activities and much more.

Visiting family is difficult

You can’t just pop in to see your loved one. You have to make an appointment. They only have a room to sit in which can be booked. There is no other place in this facility where you can sit with your parent or loved one. It is important for your loved one to have that connection with family. They don’t let you sit with your loved one together in the facility. Very very difficult to have that contact with your family. You can sit on the patio only if weather permits. Then you have to take resident out which can endanger the resident of falling. Can be very disappointing if you want to see your loved one which is very important for the resident. Other facilities let you join in on activities. Not Christian fellowship house even though covid is minimal!

A warm, homey, welcoming living environment

The Christian Fellowship House has provided my parents with a warm, safe, secure, and spiritually uplifting environment. When I first brought my parents to visit over a year ago, we were welcomed warmly at the door by [name removed] and [name removed] and they showed so much sensitivity, respect and encouragement to my father as they helped him to ambulate through the hallways. After my parents moved in, the staff stayed on top of my father's medical condition. They kept me up to date on his medications and any change in his health status. between [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed]and others, I was always kept informed when my father needed to be sent to the ER or admitted to the hospital. The staff was also very sensitive in supporting my mother emotionally through all these setbacks. When my father was transitioned to hospice, Pastor [name removed] would visit him in his room to read the Bible, sing hymns and pray for him and my mother. The staff is truly caring and the building is beautifully decorated.

Tour experience

We toured with Christian Fellowship House and it was quite nice and staff were lovely. They get 5 stars as long as your loved one can do stairs. My Dad is wheelchair bound and the layout of the facility was not accommodating for him. Many stairs and small hallways.

Response from Christian Fellowship House

Thank you for coming to see our place. We're sorry it didn't work out for your Dad. Yes, there are a few areas where there are 1, 2 or 3 steps. We will always assist someone that doest walk well. We try not to use wheelchairs ( except long distances) , If they depend on it too much they lose their ability to walk. We would rather help them from room to room with assistance. It's like snippets of PT all day long. It really gets them stronger faster than wheelchairs and a bit of PT 5x a week. We're very happy you liked our ambiance. We work very hard to keep our place Homey, and not like an institution, or Hotel. More like a "Bed and Breakfast" , or their Home, with all the care they need, in a loving and caring environment. We hope you find the right place for your Dad!

COVID is really not a huge concern but the visiting still runs that way. Only one small office space with no coach or comfortable chair to visit. It's the only place you can visit if outdoors is not weather permitting. Very unique and special place. It's very homey. It's not your typical assisted living - good and bad. Bad is the no doctors also it's not visitor friendly; you need to make an appointment to see your family member so that's very inconvenient. Also the grounds are gorgeous. My dad who has advanced Alzheimer's is really thriving there!!

So fortunate our parents live at Christian Fellowship House

Christian Fellowship House has given our dad a new lease on life. Before moving to CFH, our elderly parents were trying to live independently, with our mom's dementia worsening and our dad's health failing; it was heartbreaking to see the condition they were in. Moving to CFH has been the best thing we could have done for our parents. Our parents have a beautiful bedroom and come downstairs to the dining room to socialize and enjoy delicious meals every day. They do physical therapy regularly. They love relaxing on the patio and seeing the horses grazing and birds flying in the trees. Our dad was so excited because he has even been dancing again! The staff have been warm and genuinely caring. Sue, the med tech, sets a special alarm every evening to come and give our mom a medicine that needs to be administered right at bedtime. My sister and I went from worrying about our parents constantly to knowing that they are safe, loved, and cared for. We are so lucky to have found CFH!

Christian Fellowship House- A place called home

It was 8 years ago that my family and I were looking for an assisted living facility to place my dear Dad. We were becoming very discouraged about finding a place that we felt was suitable for him.- a place he would be happy in. A couple of the places were absolutely horrendous, and the rest were okay, but they felt very sterile and uninviting. Then by chance we heard about the Christian Fellowship House. We toured the facility and knew IMMEDIATELY that this is where Dad would live! The love, respect, compassion and care that my Dad has been shown the last 8 years has been nothing short of amazing! The terrific staff treat [name removed] and the other residents like FAMILY. I can’t stress enough how SPECIAL the CFH is…from the wonderful caring staff, to the beautiful grounds, and the cleanliness of the facility! It just feels like HOME!! Since we live out of state, it brings us great comfort to know that Dad’s care is in the loving hands of the CFH family!

Fantastic care for your loved ones!

CFH is far superior to the care given at so-called "skilled nursing home" facilities and rehabs that I've seen in the past 20 years. Their staff is top-notch, talented, friendly and caring, and most have been there for a very long time. The place is gorgeous, like an old Gold Coast mansion - real furniture, carpet, well-maintained, horses in the back yard, and so quiet all you can hear are birds chirping. There are activities - my mom loves Bingo and snack time best. Food is very good, served in a beautiful dining room. On nice days, we can sit outside on the patio to visit, and sometimes pet the miniature horses. The price for all this is far less than you would pay for questionable at-home care or a nursing home. CFH has been a life-saver and a blessing for our whole family.

Warm and Caring Assisted Living Facility- ran and owned by a wonderful family!

My mommy developed dementia four years ago and my daddy passed away last year. My mom led a very active life and was living with a family member who was stressed by my moms constant care. I knew my mom would be happy surrounded by her peers. She needed that interaction in her life. After my dad died A Place for Mom gave me a list of assisted living places. Christian Fellowship House struck me as a very special facility. It is owned and ran by a beautiful and loving family. I am so so happy and feel blessed to have found Christian Fellowship House!! They take such a loving and caring approach to helping my mom. All the staff members are special people. When you enter their gorgeous home you feel that sense of love. The home, grounds, and the rooms are simply gorgeous too. Pam the owner is available to you through text at any time. When I call mommy or see her she tells me how nice everyone is to her! She is so happy! I feel so blessed to have found Christian Fellowship House!!

Lovely Place for Mom

My mom is has been a resident of Christian Fellowship House for almost 2 years. I had looked at several other facilities before deciding on CFH. The assisted living facility is housed in a converted mansion on beautiful grounds. It is a smaller facility, so it feels more like a home. The bedrooms and living areas are well appointed. There are always activities available for those who wish to participate. The staff is wonderful and will go out of their way to assist you with whatever concerns you may have. This is an independent and family run business and you can see this in the level of care they offer. Mom is very happy and content here.

It is a very warm and inviting environment, and they know all the residents by name

They will tell you that they have a visiting doctor, and a hair technician which they do, however due to COVID it is hard to judge, and those individuals are not able to come in as regular as some other places. Our loved one has never had any complaints regarding the food. They are very accommodating, and the keep a chart of the residents birthdays and bake them a cake to celebrate. They are also well aware of those who do not want to eat, and they encourage them to eat and even bring them different meal options.

Truly a Place for Mom

My mom was in Christian Fellowship House for the last six years of her life, having passed July 2020. She started out not needing as much care to get through the day. As time went on though that changed and CFH was always there to accommodate her and keep her comfortable, even when she was finally on Hospice care. Thank you [names removed] and all those kind people at CFH who cared for my mom through the years. I am grateful for all you did.

Thank you for choosing us to care for your Mom in her time of need. She was a wonderful lady. Unfortunately, in this business we make so many friends that become a part of our family, and when God calls them home we not only miss them but also their families.

Personalized care with dignity and love

My mother in law was a resident for two years before her passing. The care she received was loving and personalized. The staff took time to know her and her preferences. While her dementia worsened, the level of attention increased to address her needs. This is a wonderful, human scaled place and my wife always were sure she was safe and loved. It was an answer to prayer. The grounds are beautiful and offer wonderful vistas. The rooms are large the large dining room has wonderful natural light, the living room and enclosed patio provided comfort and in all seasons. Christian Fellowship House is a great place.

NO REFUNDS

The place was beautiful, the staff were wonderful, and I thought it would be a the perfect fit for my mother. And it was until she fell and broke her hip. She could not go back because she couldn't walk, which is understandable. She was at Christian Fellowship for 12 days when she broke her hip. I paid $8000.00 upon her entry for the first months rent and the entrance fee of $4000.00 (Probably to pay the fee to a Place for Mom, although a place for mom did not recommend this facility at that time). I questioned Pam the Owner about what if things didn't work out, and she told me 'we work with the families.' My mother spent the next 1 days there. She fell on the 12th day and was taken to the hospital. She was in and out of surgeries, rehabs and hospitals for the next 2 months. While she was in the rehab facility I received a call from Pam asking me if I wanted her to save the room for my mom, I said yes and was told that money to hold her place would need to be paid. I sent Pam 2 more checks totaling $7000 to hold a spot for my mother when she comes back. I was told by Pam that she would be able to come back on a Hospice Order, which we got, but she had an IV for antiobiotics in her arm, and they would not take her back. At that time I questioned Pam if I would be able to get some of the money back, at least the $4000.00 upfront fee. She had only been there 12 days. The answer was NO. Since this hip break she was in and out of hospitals, has spent over $10000 in health care and hospital stays. And Christian Fellowship did not offer any assistance at all or take any responsibility for what happened. Truthfully I was very surprised. As a Christian, and having my mom cared for by what I thought were other Christians really made me feel good. But the fact that the $4000 was not refunded after being there for 12 days with no assistance to pay a portion and any of her medical bills through there insurance really made me sick, and think that this facility really isn't a Christian facility. There was no humbling or saying let me see if I can work anything out. It is not like other places either, but I know after talking to others that when there parents were taken out of a facility after been in less then 2 -3 weeks there money was refunded. I think it is a great disservice to those that are looking at this Christian Living Fellowship. I would not recommend this place for that reason. If my mother did not fall and had stayed there for a couple of months and left, I would have not asked for a portion of a refund. But that was not the case. The caring Christian fellowship didn't call to see how my mother was doing and I know they really didn't care. So in closing be careful when looking at this facility. I am so sorry I had taken her there in the first place and will never recommend it.
