The problem was [name removed] the person in charge of the CNAs, operated in a tyrannical manner. She first refused to allow my wife to us a bed pan. Then, though it was agreed before we entered that she could use a bed pan at night and I and staff could use our Hoyer during the day, she demanded the CNAs use their Hoyer both day and night even though the only sling they had was for a bariatric person and my wife is petite. And, that meant waiting hours to urinate and not being able to go to the dining room. [name removed]claimed our Hoyer was dangerous because, being a manual hydraulic pump model, it has a lever that bleeds the pressure off rather than a motor that bleeds it off. She claimed the lever made the Hoyer dangerous. [name removed]single-handedly made the otherwise nice facility intolerable and unacceptable. If [name removed] is still there, the place is fine for residents who do not need the CNAs but unacceptable for a person who is wheelchair-bound. Also, once in a wheelchair with a Hoyer, the person must stay in the sling according to [name removed]though this causes sores and should not be done. Since the CNAs are also waiters in the dining room, there are two hour period when the CNAs do not respond to a person in a room or a wheelchair.

My loved one was previously a resident at Sunrise of Fairfield and we did not have a good experience. It was unacceptable. [Name removed], who is in charge of the Aides, drove us away. We had many issues and disagreements about my loved one's care, including bed pan use refusal and Hoyer lift use/issues. For example, it took them 90 minutes to move my loved one to the restroom via the Hoyer lift. We could no longer tolerate it.

This is a wonderful place. The staff helped to make it a wonderful place as well for my loved one. This overall is a five star experience. There is nothing we don't like about the community There are three meals a day served to the residents along with snacks. There are choices for the residents to choose from.

If you can afford this community, I would recommend you do it for your loved one. The staff tries to get to know each resident and meet them where they are. The staff have gone above and beyond to allow my loved one to stay in assisted living instead of moving them to the next level of care. This has been fantastic to keep my loved one comfortable in their own surroundings with their sink and apartment. I was expecting from the sales process to the reality to be a big drop off from the staff friendliness and caring. The friendliness and care is still there from the staff to the family and residents. The staff won't reach out to the family unless there is an emergency. This has been good for the family to be able to take a step back. I feel my loved one is safe and this gives them the appropriate space needed in the environment with the staff.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour was wonderful, the followed the appropriate precautions regarding covid. We had a fabulous brunch, and the people were wonderful. However it just did not feel very inviting or welcoming just from a physical standpoint

The nursing care is wonderful. The staff is very, very good. They're very friendly and very helpful. My loved one has had a hard time fitting in. She's better now, but it has taken several months. There's not a whole lot of help for her with her macular degeneration, unlike what they originally said there would be. The food is not wonderful. It could use more variation. Same with activities. They don't' have very many. But overall, I'm very happy with it because she's close to home to me, but she's still setting in.
