A well run facility with a very attentive and helpful staff. The food, though, isn't up to par with the overall operation. It is being remodeled and the upgrades are significant. We visited a half dozen facilities and the staff here made the difference for us.... Read more

The community was nice and the staff were accommodating. They went above and beyond with the care for my loved ones compared to other communities I had worked with in the past. The aides and techs were very friendly and nice to work with. The communication with the staff was a little disjointed. The receptionist and other staff didn't know about the passing of my loved one and that my other loved one was in the hospital. So they left the room open, and this then brought up some questions if the staff were checking on my loved ones like they told the family they would. The monthly fees went up for care levels even though the community hadn't assessed my loved one, as they were still in the hospital. They just assumed my loved one would need additional care. We ended up having to bring the care level fees to the staff's attention since my loved ones weren't in the community.

This has been pretty overall been a positive experience. There have been a few times they have dropped the ball on a couple of things. The community was recently sold, and I'm not sure if there has been a change of communication level due to this change. The community isn't communicating with the family as well as they should be about the medical care my loved is receiving.

Good community, didn't provide as much roaming as we wanted for our loved one in memory care.
Very caring facility they seem to care for their residents as well as the family members medical staff communicate well and value my input.

The community seemed like they didn't care about my loved one. The staff didn't know what was going on with all the residents. My loved one needed to come back home with me, and they didn't have any of my loved ones clothes and any of the clothes it were stained.

Do not trust this place with your love ones. They do not provide safe or quality care. They do not give the care promised, they will take your money and tell you want you want to hear! Please look elsewhere if your family member or loved one suffers form dementia. My mom has received the worst care. She is being neglected AND I FEAR SHE IS BEING ABUSED. Unfortunately, she is not able to communicate, the cuts and bruises speak for themselves. Her health declined rapidly after moving into Sterling Ridge. I am fearful for her safety and wellbeing!! The first week she was there she had multiple bruises and lactations. My father had to take her to the hospital because she looked so beat up. For her safety we have to relocate her. Because Sterling Ridge misrepresented the care that would be provided and because my mother showed signs of abuse and neglect we felt we were entitled to a refund for the nights she no longer resided there They require a thirty day notice, in thirty days she will be dead. Yes, we signed a contract but so did they. They did not provide the care we were promised. This is a horrible place, my mothers safety and well being is what is important, not the money. However, I do not feel that we should be held to this contract when Sterling Ridge misrepresented themselves in the contract. Save yourself the heartache, look elsewhere.

My mother is now in Memory Care and our biggest complaint is the food. There is no option for meals: You have to take what they give or go without. There have been several times that I have seen mom reject items and try to make me eat it. When it is good, it is usually lukewarm to cold; especially the soups. She has always loved soup, so it is literally heartbreaking to see her turn up her nose and then I taste it and understand why! I try to keep healthy snacks stocked for her like prunes, raisins, nuts to get her through the "lean" times. I have also brought the handy tuna and salmon pouches and crackers for when she doesn't like a meal, but I don't think communication is good between staff and shifts and don't know if she's gotten any. If maybe they could have some cold sandwich options and HOT soup (w/crackers) I know that we would both be happier!

Your loved one gets put in Memory Care. They are locked in. Men and women are in the same ward, doors don't lock (accept the ones to freedom). My friend is frightened she could be raped so she's being deprived of sleep. My first evening there to visit her a woman stood in the hall with nothing on from the waist down. They are supposed to be a "memory care" facility, yet through all the days I visited not once did I see an aide or staff member work with any of the patience on improving their memory. The doctors don't come around enough to re-evaluate in order to get the residence out of memory care. But why would they? More money in the facility's pocket. My friend had a urinary tract infection - seems it's not being treated. She has to go to the staff to request her medications. If this is a memory care facility - how many people don't think to request their RX? After providing her medication,, including one which completely knocks her out, [name removed] just handed her the pills and turned her back. I barely got her to her bed without the two of us falling in the hallway. Is that how our loved ones should be treated? She is in with a group of people who have real mental issues and this is killing her spirit. She does NOT need to be in this facility - and staff members confirmed that to me....but unless a doctor makes time to evaluate her, she is stuck. She can't associate with the outside world through phone calls. She is being held a prisoner. She doesn't trust the staff. She is depressed, deprived, not sleeping and empty. How is she to improve in such an environment? I would NEVER put my loved one in this horrific place. Oh and the administrative staff ([name removed] & [name removed]) are beyond rude, assuming and think they know what is needed. They don't know my friend.....I do!

No Pool. How can you live in Las Vegas without a pool to cool off in the summer? A real deal breaker!

I've been communicating with my mother regularly regarding how she is fitting in at Sterling Ridge, etc. She only has one complaint about the retirement residence - the food. She is on a very strick diet - sodium free - low sugar, etc. Most people mom's age (92) can't eat a lot of ruffage and she feels that at times - the dinners are not adaquate. They consist of a salad - or perhaps a sandwich. I would like to see a better selection for the residents to choose from. AFter all, everyone is different and they each have their own likes and dislikes. And....after being on this earth for 92 years - shouldn't they really get what they want? I think so. In addition, the chef is not really helpful with this request...so I do ask that someone look into this and maybe help out an old gal. Thanks much.

WOW! We went by this place a few months ago and it was under renovations, and it looked like it needed it! My husband and I went back this week to look at it again... FANTASTIC!! The renovations are done and it looked GREAT! The best part was that my mother-in-law loved it too! She is moving in a studio for $1800.00 I am thrilled that she is moving out of my house!! I love her but it was time for her to move. So happy with the price and the apartment!

While I was looking for facilities for my Father, I came across this community and it just wasn’t a good match. They did have a really good memory care program but they didn’t match up to my expectations. It was a clean facility and they seemed to have enough staff for the residents they had, but it was too clinical. The community felt cold, institutionalized, and more like a hospital. I would not recommend this facility to other families.

I was looking online at other facilities and this one was the only one I really liked. It's very clean and lovely. The staff is always respectful, welcoming, and they talk to not only my mom but me as well. They really make a point to get her involved in the daily activities. The food is hit or miss and some of the meals are not up to my mom's liking. There is a stuffed tomato meal that doesn't sit well with a lot of residents. I tend to bring food in for my mom so she has something to eat. The chefs keep some of the food in the kitchen so they can reheat it up for her at a later time. The rooms are spotless and very well maintained. The rooms are big, spacious, and come unfurnished. You do have to provide everything in the room beside toilet paper and paper towels. The facility does offer activities such as puzzles, rummy, group things, and they have entertainers come in here and there. Overall I would definitely recommend this community.

Mom is settling in well at Sterling Ridge. The main reason why we chose this community is the people who work there are all have caring, honest, genuine personalities. Mom is really happy with the quality of care they are providing for her. The atmosphere when you enter the lobby is warm and inviting. While some of the amenities need some updating, it is the people who make the place a great place to live. Some of the meals they prepare are good but if you don't like what is served there is a daily menu to choose something else. They offer activities to the residents but they do not push them to participate which is a good fit for my mom. She is very pleased with her room, one bedroom with a small living area. There is a small courtyard that she enjoys walking around and enjoying the fresh air. I would highly recommend this community to others who might find it to be a great fit for their loved one.

A Place for Mom has scored Sterling Ridge 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
