Not very consistent staff and horrible communication of different people who interstate With residents. The medical staff is better. They need to improve on the food quality. Quality. Seemed like Costco Boxed food instead of home cooking.

Which you agree with regarding our medical staff. Thank you. Our menu is designed by dieticians who make sure that the food meets nutrition standards for seniors. Please reach out and talk directly with our Chef, who is open to feedback and has monthly meetings with residents.
Pacifica was the best facility I visited and the staff was very welcoming. They seemed to really care about senior's. Pacifica exceeded our expectations in all the above areas. I would definitely recommend them in the future.

It's clean , very close to San Martin Hospital (next door). Very friendly staff and my father feels happy there .Why I picked that facility ? I work in physical therapy and did home health in that facility and I liked what I saw! Chairs and benches every 150 -175 ft , railings on both sides of all walkway corridor , NO CARPET , very well lighted throughout, a waterfall entryway, all the amenities a senior will need. The facility looks like a resort atmosphere. The prices are very comparable for the services . The facility set up is perfect ( eating area is located in the middle ) and everyone's rooms are wrapped around it -(very well planned ) all the rooms have shutters and NO CARPET. The food is good and lots to offer off the main menu options . Maintenance problems get addressed quickly .

My ratings of 4 were influenced mainly by shortages of staff, which is chronic across the industry. The med techs seem to truly care about the residents. Service in the dining room is often hampered by staff shortages or supply chain issues, but they do the best that they can to accommodate any special requests. Overall, we are pleased with our experiences at Pacifica Senior Living San Martin.

November 20, 2023We are glad that you are pleased with your overall experience at our community. We appreciate your concern about staffing, however we are staffed according to licensing standards and currently have the correct ratio of staff to residents.
I like the location. The staff is nice but communication could be better. They need to improve on their staffing at night. Better response time when the button is pushed for your care taker. I think there needs to be a common area on the first floor with a TV so that the residents can get together and watch shows, sports. The activity director needs to be around after dinner as well.

First, we want you to know that our staffing is based on our licensing requirements, and we are currently staffed at the correct ratio between residents and staff. You may not have noticed but there is a room in the back of the building with a TV and couches where residents absolutely congregate. We also have a TV in the pub at the front of the building. This is where most of our activities take place.
What we like the most about the Pacifica Senior Living community is the staff members. The staff team there are friendly and responsive. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families

We would like to respond directly to your comments but we are restricted by HIPPA rules (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) about discussing the specific care of any resident, especially on an online review response. We wish your family peace at this time.
Mom complains all the time about quality of care, place is under staffed. Cause delays for shower assistance, if not skipped. Cost keeps go up. They find more things to bill her for monthly. She likes to keep track of her expenses, finds it frustrating. We would absolutely recommend Pacifica Senior Living community to other families

My loved one is no longer at the community. Everybody was always very friendly, and listened. They were not as attentive. They advertised a lot of activities, but my loved one did not engage in any of them. The value for the money was not good. They did not always clean up well. Overall, my experience was not good.

March 7, 2023While it is challenging to address your specific issues without knowing the people involved, we can state that there are continual daily activities in our memory care neighborhood where every resident is included unless they or their family specifically refuse to be involved. We have housekeeping services throughout the week Monday through Friday and our housekeeping staff is asked to keep areas clean and fresh-smelling. If you have specific issues with any memory care staff, we ask that you contact the executive director directly, so that she can address your concerns.
At this moment we would not recommend this community to other families.

The care was very good. [name removed] the wellness director was phenomenal. The billing and business management/financial end was inefficient, it was one mistake after the other. My advice to others would be to keep on top of that. Overall I would recommend Pacifica Senior Living San Martin to other families.

We do not have anything really to compare the value to but overall we do think it is good. We do think the food has a reasonable palate for senior citizens. Our loved one has not been the most receptive going to the activities but what she has done she really has enjoyed. We would have families consider this community for their loved ones has it really depends on their level of needs and care.

I like the community. The apartment is very roomy with a walk-in closest with a full size fridge. I am disappointed the time to get housekeeping established on a regular basis. At first I don't feel the staff were checking on my loved one as often as they should have. The communication with the staff can be hard to get a follow up with the family's questions or concerns. There could be some renovations to update the carpet in the community. There are three meals a day and choices for the residents to choose from. The residents have the choice to make food in their apartment or have the meals in their apartment as well.

We have been disappointed with the cost, bookkeeping, food is just awful and new management seems more attentive to needs. Staff is very friendly and helpful but seem to be overworked.

Cleaning sporadic, issue with theft, call buttons not answered, paid for hourly checks not done phone calls/emails unanswered, fire door/security camera not functioning, resident bully not addressed. In my opinion the staff that interacted with my mother were caring and kind and most were doing their best despite the complete lack of support and recognition of leadership

December 12, 2022Dear Sally, We believe that this review regarding our services has already been addressed with you and your sister. To recap, the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services gives Pacifica Senior Living San Martin with an A rating for the care of seniors. This would not be the case if we were lacking in care and cleanliness. This has been substantiated by Adult Protective Services. With regard to security and allegations of theft, the police department does not find any credible reason to pursue this matter. We are sorry that your mother passed away and is no longer a part of your lives but it is home to many happy and thriving seniors. We ask you politely to refrain from unhelpful comments about our community in the future.
They are having some staffing issues, so they are cycling through a lot of people. They are having issues with the food, the cleaning service and the activities. The new person who took over the cooking is better and is trying alternative recipes with more vegetables and fresher foods, especially at dinner. I am seeing an improvement there. They also have a new activities director who is working in improving those. A big thing I noticed was that staff were coming in at odd hours while she was sleeping and she is independent living. She brought it up in a meeting and they seemed to listen to her suggestion. I would recommend them, they are trying to make things better and we are hoping to see more improvements.

October 28, 2022Dear Kim, Thank you for taking the time to tell us what is right about Pacific Senior Living San Martin. We are also happy to report that there were no complaints about our food service during the most recent resident council. We have looked into staffing, and while it is common for people to change jobs in this post-pandemic world, we are fully staffed at this time. In terms of staff entering a room. Many of our independent residents wear pendants and can fall asleep on the pendant. When that happens, we enter a room to turn it off. Some may also call in the middle of night experiencing confusion, which can be expected. We are glad your mom mentioned this and resolved her personal matter.
This facility is ok. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interaction between the staff and residents. There's a wide range of people here. The food doesn't seem like it's very good quality for the price. Communication with the family is ok. I suppose I would recommend them to friends and family.
