My wife, a stroke victim, has been at the facility for 3 months after having been in several other facilities over the past 2 years. Season's is providing the best and most attentive care of any other place we have experienced. The medical staff as well as the aides and activity director have been kind and are well trained. Plus the staff to resident ratio affords more interaction which is so important for my wife and other residents. Also, and very important to the residents, the meals are prepared well and served hot and the entire staff provides whatever assistance is required.

Sodalis Shavano Park has been a really good experience so far. The staff members are doing a really good job keeping it clean and the staff members have been very friendly. According to our loved one he is really enjoying the meals and even goes back for seconds, and tries to go back for thirds. The activities are very good, the staff members do a great job keeping the residents busy. The value for the money is actually much better then before - the price does not go up, it is a set price and will not raise due to inflation. What stood out to us most was their outdoor space and backyard patio. It is really big so when we come to visit there is plenty of room for our family. On the inside they have nice tall ceilings - it may not be the newest community but it is in very good shape.

Our mother is a resident at Bader House. We have had her at several different homes, but this place is amazing. She gets the attention here that someone with Alzheimers needs to have on a daily basis. [Name removed] is wonderful with all of the residents. Her smile and sweet personality are contagious. If anyone is worried about having to put their loved one in a home, Bader House will make your decision very easy.

This is a home that is nice but not as nice as a community we were comparing it to. It was large and well designed. It was great just not what I thought was appropriate for my mom's needs. They were on a list from A Place For Mom and it was nice to have their help in setting up the tours.

Response from Sodalis Shavano Park
June 21, 2017Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. I am sorry to hear that you didn't feel we would be a good fit for your mother. I hope you found the right setting to meet your mother's care needs.
I was very impressed with this community. It was one of my first choices. This is a lovely community. Everything looked great. The community is very well-kept. The staff was kind and courteous. Location was an important factor in when considering where to move my husband too. Unfortunately this community was a little far for my family to travel. It is a very nice community overall.

My daily prayer for my mom, who has Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia, is that she is happy, feels loved, safe and secure and has friends. I have found that she has all of these things at Bader House. The staff at Bader House is very caring and knows my “new mom” on a personal level. I can tell that she feels comfortable and loved when she is around them by her actions when I visit. I know that neither of us have control over this disease. What I do know is that my mom has quality of life at Bader House because she is happy almost all of the time and she loves the staff, the home-like atmosphere with home-cooked meals and the friends who live with her. Because of the people that work at Bader House, I am able to be the daughter again. They are my mom’s primary caregivers now. It is hard to give someone else the control of a loved one’s complete care. With the confidence I have in the staff at Bader House I am able to turn my mom’s care over to them. I know that she is in the best hands possible, getting better care than what I could give her. The support of the staff at Bader House is important to my husband and me as well. We are a team that walks together with my mom through her dementia journey.

A Place for Mom has scored Sodalis Shavano Park 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
