I went with a friend to visit her Mom and while there, I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. There was a lady that was able to walk on her own, but they made her stay seated in her wheelchair. When I questioned the staff about this, they told me that she was a fall risk. In reality, we all are a fall risk as we get older. This lady will lose her muscle strength and not to mention become more depressed as she is forced to give up what little independence she has. I know that she can walk very well because I encouraged her to get up and walk with me. She was reminded by a staff member that she wasn’t supposed to be out of her chair. The lady told me that she felt like she was in prison. After seeing more of their operations, I think you would have much more freedom in prison. I really would like to understand how anyone thinks it’s ok to take away a persons ability to walk?

Mom was only there for two weeks before being hospitalized again but the care was adequate and the staff friendly and caring. Momma seemed to like it well enough.

My mother seems to be doing well so far. She's been here for a little over a month and things have been positive. Based on our experience I would recommend them.

My father stayed at this community a while back and enjoyed the positive atmosphere. The meals were prepared well and in good portions. His main complaint was that the staff forced him to purchase his medication through the community and charged more than the regular price. They would not allow him to go through his regular pharmacy. Also they told him to clean his own room.
