The staff at Walnut Ridge are very caring and very attentive. When Mom pulls her cord for help, they're there in a minute or two at the most. They're sweet - they're just good people. And they take very good care of my mom. If there's any problem, they call me. I email and talk regularly with [name removed] , who is in charge of the medical side. Their communication with me is very good. The food is excellent. And the actives seem like a lot of fun.

Response from Walnut Ridge
January 24, 2023Hi Mitzi, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this wonderful review! It truly means a lot to us. Your mom is a valued member of our community and we're proud to be able to provide her with the care and lifestyle she deserves.
Overall Walnut Ridge just didn’t seem as clean as the place we chose.
I admitted my mom in early [date removed] to Walnut Ridge Assisted Living. It became evident after her admission that she needed to be in Memory Care. She has been in Memory Care for almost 2 months now and she is doing well. The staff is very supportive and responsive to me during the time I have been unable to visit her in person. Mom lived in the mountains prior to her admission and I worried constantly about her safety as her wandering and confusion got worse. Now she is safe and happy, taking her medications properly and her personal/medical needs are being monitored. The staff is very attentive and mom is doing well. Re: food-mom says it's great.

My mother is doing very well here at Walnut Ridge. She had just turned 99 years old so it was getting to that time to put her somewhere. My mother enjoys the many interactions with more people, she loves the activities that she participates in, and the staff team takes good care of her. I was worried at the beginning, but honestly this was the best thing that I could have done. My mother gets three meals a day and she loves the food there. She has a prescription for one medication and they help administering it to her regularly. She receives assistance about three times a week for her bathing and she loves it because it makes her feel better. She has a small private room so she has her independence and privacy, but someone is occasionally checking in on her making sure that she is OK. She is very happy here which makes me happy. The location is very convenient as well because it is about five minutes away from my sister and I. I just feel so appreciative for the care that she gets.

A Place for Mom has scored Walnut Ridge 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
