5 across the board. Love the staff members very caring of my mother in law who lives there but also my father in law who visits and has dinner with her daily. He raves about the food. Constant excuses are made for staff failures in following medical directions for residents care. Some attendants and med techs decide not to do what they are instructed to, and then take retribution when complaints are made. Mouth watering culinary, a joke! Don't get sucked in by their marketing. It's all a bunch of crap. They're best at deflecting and placing blame on residents and take no ownership of their own shortcomings and weaknesses. Shameful. The executives and management should trade places for a day and see how much they like the treatment residents get. Let them eat the atrocious slop served three times a day. A few staff are caring and attentive, but overall the place deserves a grade of C, at best!

My loved one was previously a resident at Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley and the experience at this facility was terrible. They had one problem after another with the aging building and also with the van. They were short staffed and on the weekend it was worse. While my loved one was at Rittenhouse, things started falling apart. The chef quit and for a time the aides were doing some of the cooking. The hairdresser quit and then they tried busing residents to the Beauty school. At one point, the van broke and there was no one to take the residents to doctors appointments. The kitchen range stopped working at one point in the winter and the kitchen staff was cooking meals outside-in the winter-on the grill. What else. At one point, the building lost hot water for a few days. Imagine taking care of residents and washing hands in cold water. There also was a gas leak for a couple days and that was shut off. It was an old building and van, and I don't think they had the money to maintain the infrastructure. I would not recommend Rittenhouse to anyone.

We think an area the Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley community could improve on would be keeping the residents especially memory care residents active. We never saw anyone doing any sort of activities.

I thought Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley was really nice. It was just too expensive.
The people at Rittenhouse Village are nice. They take an active interest in Mom's health. The building is older and has issues.

We had a very good tour at Rittenhouse Village. It was just out of our price range. But I liked the whole look of the place. It was very clean and very upbeat. And I thought the dining room looked nice.
It's not a large community. In general, I think the openness and friendliness of the community, meeting other residents, and the staff encouraging interaction has all been good. My loved one is currently seeing the house doctor, and the care has been satisfactory, along with their nursing staff, med tech, and any contracted people they bring in. The facility has been updated, and cleanliness is good. It could use maybe one or tow more extracurricular rooms. I like the location - it's close to the hospital. And I like that the residents can sit outside and watch the birds by the birdfeeders with no traffic around them. It's a nice backdrop.

Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley was my first choice, I wanted my loved one to go here BADLY. Unfortunately they were unable to take him because of his mental status at the time. It is an absolutely beautiful facility, I would have moved here myself it was that nice. It is a little on the pricier side.
For any community, find out what their criteria is for each level of care and what the process is for making the assessment as to what level the resident belongs in. Because that impacts how much you'll pay at the facility. Rittenhouse just changed their criteria, and that has increased the price. Activities are average - my loved wishes there wasn't so much Bingo. But the staff is friendly, helpful, and fairly responsive. The facility is open and airy, and doesn't smell. It's hard to judge outdoor experiences yet since he's only been there during winter months.

It is a very nice community with nice accommodations. They are affordable one bedroom rooms. Some of the activities available are off site visits, library, outside music, and more are available for the residents to participate in.

We actually came here a few times, and it was one of our top choices. It was a nice facility, with a nice dining area. There seemed to be lots of staff, and we met with a few of them. We chose a different community, but if we end up moving our loved one, Rittenhouse Village is still top of mind.
Facility was modern, like living in a hotel. [Name removed] the coordinator was extremely helpful and pleasant. Menu is posted 3 months in advance. In addition to monthly payment there is a one time “community fee” that was agreed to be broken into 3 payments instead of the usual one payment.

Response from Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley
January 5, 2021Thank you for your five-star review!
My sister and I enjoyed this tour. The facility was clean, the rooms are all being renovated which was really nice to see. We enjoyed the fact that we saw a lot of the residents out and about, playing bingo and word games. The staff was very friendly. It was a very upbeat community and we enjoyed that the most. [Name removed] did a great job answering all of our questions and giving us the tour.

Response from Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley
January 5, 2021Thank you for your wonderful review! We take pride in providing the best in senior care and are thrilled to ehar your father is happy in his new home here with us at Rittenhouse Village At Lehigh Valley.
The State of PA officially revoked their license last week due to excessive inspection violations and [Removed] which resulted in loss of life when a resident in memory care went missing. This is all verifiable by looking at DHS records and searching news articles online regarding Woodland Terrace. Ironically, they are currently remodeling which certainly says so much about priorities. There is rarely a nurse on duty and call bells go unanswered for 30 minutes plus on a regular basis. They are great at marketing their product but the actual care of the residents is deplorable. The minimal staff is overworked and under trained. We are hopeful the State follows through with this decision. Management has been told repeatedly about outrageous conditions but they chose to ignore it. This goes all the way to the top which is Woodbine Group. Shameful!

Response from Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley
January 5, 2021This community was purchased in 2018 and has been under new management from Discovery Senior Living ever since. It is no longer Woodland Terrace. It is now Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley and, in fact, won Senior Advisor's Best Of Award in 2020. The community went through a complete designer remodel and security upgrades as soon as Discovery Senior Living took over.
The tours are nice and the place shows well. However, there are many serious problems here. The State of PA currently has them under a PROVISIONAL license due to multiple inspection violations. You can verify this online as it is public info. There are frequent medication mistakes. There is a very serious issue which is covered on going in the news currently where one of the residents in the memory care unit went missing on the overnight shift a month ago. Sadly this had a tragic ending and is still being investigated. They are extremely understaffed and there is a constant turnover. Even the food quality and service has deteriorated. Residents sit for long periods of time waiting for their meals which are served by the same staff who serve as care givers and med techs. (There is no separate dining room staff). The staff is overworked and complain frequently in front of the residents. New ownership and management in 2016 with lots of promises but no follow through.
