Atrium of Allentown

The Atrium of Allentown facility is new and well maintained. It is a two story building with resident rooms around the perimeter of a large, central dining area and courtyard on the first floor. The recreation room is on the second floor. Most residents seem happy with the food activities. Atrium did not work out for us as our mon now uses a well chair. Her room was very nice but not geared for someone in a wheelchair; she couldn't reach the sinks. Plus her room was far from the central admin center. Atrium was not staffed to deal with the amount of assistance our mother needed with medications and movement. She passed her initial assessment to enter Atrium, but we shortly had to move her to a higher level of care facility.

At times they are understaffed, but we love The Atrium of Allentown and eel very luck to have found it. Mostly everyone we've encountered at Atrium is wonderful. The social activities are outstanding, the activities get a 5+++.

Atrium of Allentown is a beautiful facility. The care giving team there knows each resident and genuinely engages with all of them on a regular basis. The residents are also friendly and seem very happy. My siblings and I have a great deal of confidence in the supervision and care our father is being given at Atrium.

I want to thank all the nurses,, aids , staff and management for the great care you give to my mother-in-law. You are kind, caring, and go above and beyond. My husband and I were very worried about leaving her but you have truly given her a home in your facility!

My family member has said she wishes the menu was more varied, and that there were more activities besides bingo (but we know there are other options available).

Backstory: My experience began when a rep from A Place for Mom reached out to discuss my needs. She helped narrow my search, scheduled tours and facilitated communication. I really felt like she was on my side and understood me. Facility: When I toured Atrium of Allentown, I was impressed by the cleanliness, the aesthetics/ modern decor, and the friendliness of everyone I encountered. I stopped in a day later at 8am and saw staff cleaning. The Food: I always ask on a tour if the sales managers dine in the facility. Most do not. “The food” is an important part of an elderly one’s day, often the highlight. Atrium’s dining room is cozy, the food is really good, and the servers are accommodating. They treat my mother like royalty. Care: Everyone from the ED down is wonderful. I have often found the sales manager sitting in my mother’s room chatting with her. The aides are welcoming, helpful and treat my mother with dignity. They are earth angels doing a hard job with a smile.

Very satisfied. The staff there is phenomenal, they go above beyond. Social services are great too. The meals are very appealing and the atmosphere is very welcoming and nice. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking.

Atrium of Allentown staff is very caring and truly passionate about their community and the residents. The building itself is beautiful too. They are exceptionally helpful and always there to answer your questions!

Residents seem happy and well cared for. The facility is clean and new. The staff is very friendly. During our tour we saw a lot of activity and we stayed for lunch. The food was great and the Executive Chef came out to meet us. [name removed] the Activities Director was very informative.

Activities staff were excellent. The service response was terrible. New managers were not able to correct the staff problems

My mother is a resident of Atrium's memory care unit for over a year now. Her room is spacious, modern, comfortable and clean. She is content and well-cared for. When I was searching for memory care facilities, what struck me initially about Atrium was the lovely decor and friendliness of the staff, whom my mother adores. They always go out of their way to make her feel loved. After she settled in, I came to appreciate more aspects. A highlight of Atrium is the numerous activities throughout the day (bingo, chair yoga, arts & crafts, baking, dancing, etc). My mother happily participates in almost all of them. Additionally, weekly excursions add to the fun. Trips include visiting local stores, restaurants, high school concerts, fall foliage tour, car shows, Martin Guitar tour, just to name a few. When my mother lived at home, her world was shrinking and isolating. Now, with all of the fun activities, she is far more engaged and joyful, even as her dementia worsens.

Every one of the staff members is nice and mom loves it here. The big difference for me is the care. The nursing director, [name removed], goes above and beyond to make sure that mom is well cared for. And it shows!

This was the first place I toured and I was really impressed. It was super clean, residents were engaged in activities, staff were friendly, & it's beautiful. Nice location. They're good with communicating with the families when needed.

I had a very bad experience with them. They were very disorganized and understaffed. I Got Dad moved in and they did absolutely nothing that they had said they were going to do. I had two meetings with them after he moved in to address these issues, and again nothing was done. After one month of him living there, I moved him out and over to [facility name removed].

When [name removed] moved in, they were in the process of repainting the main lobby area, and you could tell the rest of the building was freshly painted as well. It looked as though it had been recently renovated, to a modern/trendy rustic farmhouse style. The rooms seemed generously sized, the bathrooms modern and safe with walk-in (no step) showers. The couple of staff members we encountered were very friendly, greeting us with a smile and making small talk with my kids (7 & 5). [name removed] has told us on multiple occasions that the food is very good.

i feel content that my mom has a place that is safe, great food, and activities all available to her. I no longer have to worry. The process to enter the facility was great. Everyone is very nice and helpful. My mother raves about the food and how good it is - which is a plus. On improvements I would like more communication on what their activities are during the day either on a website or email. A person at the welcome desk more frequently.

When my mother moved into Atrium, it was unclear until the last minute if she would leave her house voluntarily. When she finally agreed, Atrium ensured that a room would be ready for her the very next day. I cannot express my gratitude enough to Atrium for helping this transition to go as smoothly as possible. After 1-2 weeks at Atrium, my mother settled in very nicely. As a resident with dementia, she resides in Memory Lane. She is happy there, loves the staff and new friends, the food, and enjoys the many activities throughout the day. The facility is new and decorated very nicely. With an on-site salon and visiting doctors, dentists, podiatrists, physical therapists and nurses, all of her needs have been well taken care of.

We toured Atrium and right away my mom was happy to see a great looking facility with a home like atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and responsive to all questions. I think my parents will be happy at Atrium.

They promised and delivered what they promised. They took good care of my loved one.

The facility is very well maintained. The staff is friendly. They are understaffed for the amount of residents they have. In memory care, my loved one needs a little more attention than she's getting. Recently it looked like she hadn't been showered in a week. And her teeth were not clean. She does seem to be happy there. And they do a lot of activities. I would like to see them improve the food. Sometimes it's difficult to eat - it needs to be softer or be able to be easily cut into smaller pieces.
